Day 5: Live Life Devotional

Day 5
You are special to God

The bible says that God knows all about us.  He even knows the number of hairs on our head!  That is such an amazing thought to think about.  God is trying to communicate with us who we are and what we were made for.  Remember, God knows our purpose because he is the master artist who has created us.

Now, all we need to do is get to know God through his word. We can find out our purpose in this life if we ask the creator directly.

It is perfectly normal to think about God’s goodness, his love, his kindness, and his creativeness. This is something we should be thinking about. This is something we should meditate on every day. We should have a close enough relationship with the Lord to ask him “God who am I, that you even thought to create me?”

Let us meditate on this verse today:

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Take this time to think about why God made you.  You have special gifts and talents that only you possess.  What are the things that you are good at?  What are the things that come easy to you?  What are the things that make you happy?  What kind of work do you find pleasure in?

Thinking about these questions and keeping a journal about them will help get the wheels rolling in your mind about why exactly you are here . . . Why did God make you?

This is a step by step journey. God wants to walk you through it day by day. Take your time during this devotional to really meditate on the scriptures. This Life is more than just working, trying to make it, retiring, and then dying. We are meant for more. We are meant to pass the word of God down to our family. We are also meant to pass the word through out the whole world. However, before we get to that point of having the full confidence to carry out our ministry, the Lord needs to prepare us for the task. The Lord needs us to understand our purpose according to his plan. Take the time to find your purpose. Take the time to Live this Life on Purpose.
