Live Life Post 132 Lord, What am I supposed to be doing?

I am proud to say that I have no idea what I am doing!

Nope, no clue what so ever . . .

Ok, well I have a clue, a few hints, maybe a glimpse into my future, but that is it!!

This  is the way it happens.  Very rarely does God give us the full view and plan for what our life is going to be.  He often just gives us little hints, little crumps to follow, expecting us to have faith and to grow in faith.  He wants us to constantly grow in trust.  He wants us to understand that he has it all under control.  The most important thing about this lesson is learning about how to have patience . . .

For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?  But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Romans 8:24-25

I know I have to take myself out of the mindset that I have to DO DO DO all the time.  It just isn't necessary really.  We have to learn how to be in harmony with God's plan for us.  We have to learn how to just do what God tells us to do, no stress, no worries, and no anxiety.  When we feel these type of emotions, they don't come from God.  We do it to ourselves.  Now we just have to learn how to navigate through these types of feelings.

But what do we do when we feel lost?

The thing is some days, the vision is very clear.  Other days not so much.  I know for me when I am on a roll for Jesus I am full of energy and I am ready to go full steam ahead.  I have creative energy, I have focus, and I am ready to do what God says do.  Other days, especially those days when things are not going so well,  I feel lost and alone.  I want to scream out to God.

What am I supposed to be doing!!!

I want to be "On" all the time.  It feels good knowing what and when your supposed to do something.  But sometimes life can just side track us and we can find ourselves in our own wilderness.  What I am learning is that this is supposed to happen.  God wants to teach us that we need to be depended on him for everything.  Even when things don't seem to be working out according to our plans.  He wants you to stay the course of his plan.  He wants us to remember what he has told us to do.  We have to learn how to clear out the distractions and concentrate on God.

Many are the plans in a person's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.

Proverbs 19:21 NIV

There is a purpose in going through these feelings of confusion.   The reason why we go through these emotions is so that we can learn how we should navigate our way through it.  Guess how?  Yep that is right: reading your word.  Reading the bible is our guide and our counsel with the most high, our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.  When we learn how to navigate ourselves through these seasons of doubt and confusion, we learn that all roads lead back to the Lord.  He will always be the way to peace.

I tell you again: Learn PATIENCE.

Learning how to trust your faith, being patient in the belief that God's purpose will always come to pass really gives you a sense of peace.  So, why to we go through these times of confusion?  It's just because we forget.  We have to be reminded from time to time of God's promises to us.  Have a little talk with Jesus, he will remind you that you don't have to worry "bout a thing, cuz every little thing is gonna be alright!" (in my best Negril Jamaican accent!) "Yeah Mon!"

After wearing my self out with work, home, kids, husband, and errands, I finally slowed down and said "That's it!  It is time for some serious alone time with Jesus."  With all the matron of honor duties, daughter, mom and wife duties, I was getting distracted from my purpose.  God even had to stop me and correct me about this blog . . . It is more important for me to spend time with him then it is to write this blog . . . Why? . . . Because if I don't spend time with the Lord, then how can the Holy Spirit tell me what to write to you?

So, this is for everyone who is feeling a little overwhelmed.  Maybe you feel a little used up by people because of all of the favors that you do for them.  Or maybe you are just feeling out of place. This post is for the busy ones who think their schedule is just a little too jammed pack for the Lord. . .Slow down, take a deep breath, everything is going to be ok.  It is to your benefit to spend time with God through prayer or reading your bible.  It is ok to tell the family, "Look, I need a little time to my self, get some leftovers from the fridge."

Spending time with the Lord is what you need to do to find yourself!

Yes, you and I are in the same boat.  We don't know what to do with ourselves when we put too much on our plate.  When we finally do get a chance to look up from our lives, we say out loud "I don't have any idea what I am doing!"

None of us know exactly what we are doing.  This is why we should always consult with the Lord.  This is why we should always listen to the Holy Spirit so he can lead us to where we need to go. We need to take things day by day and trust that the Lord has our best interest at heart. God tells us not to worry about tomorrow because today has enough to worry about!

Being a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ is not a guarantee that we are going to be happy, smiling, no troubles in the world Christians all the time.  It just means that we trust the Lord to take us where we need to go.  We also trust that he has the answer written down for us somewhere in his word.

Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellers they are established.

Proverbs 15:22

So, (in my best NJ Italian mobster voice:)

Don't Worry About It!

We want to continue to walk in our purpose and we don't want to be disappointed.  Let's just take it one day at a time seeking our counsel from the Lord.

All my best with love and prayers that you stay on this journey and let God use you.

Live Life Post 131 Walk in Purpose

We all need a little encouragement from time to time.  Encourage yourself.  Start your walk to your destiny by living on Purpose.  Remember what I always say about the power of words.  Start speaking good things over your life.  Start writing these things down and you will be closer to your purpose.

Identify your gifts

Listen for your calling

Follow the dreams that God gave you

Walk in Faith

Obtain your Vision

Go after your Dreams

Walk in your purpose

How do you do all of this?  By walking and talking with the Lord.

Love you with the love of Jesus.  I pray that this was encouraging to you.  I pray that you find your purpose in this life.

Live Life post 130 The Wiles of the Enemy

-Kay Arthur

Do you know how the devil works?

I wanted to present to you this question real quick because I am concerned that too many Christians don't really know how the devil works.  I don't think we are reading our bible long enough, hard enough, or clear enough.  If we understood how the enemy sets things against us then we can learn how much of a nuisance he is.

I think we either give the enemy too much credit or not enough credit.

I know that I have recently fell for one of his schemes.  Something must of happened that my faith dropped and I thought that I had to take a part time, demeaning job, just to make ends meet.  Turns out that it was costing more to do the job then if I stayed home.  What happened?  Well I had a lot of negative people in my ear telling me I needed to get a job, get 'something' to help out.  This was only a half truth.  We all need to work, this is true.  But God already told me that he has provided me with a job.  This is my job now.  My only concern should be building this business online and helping my family out in this way.  This is the vision that he had given me regardless if anyone else could see it.  I now feel so behind.  On top of that, I am not doing very well at this part time job.  So not only did the devil trap me in this job, stealing my time from what God wants me to do, but he has is trying to get me to think less of myself.  This situation has created great toil for me and my family.  Here goes the thing that I need to point out though . . . it was not all the devils fault!  He just set up the trap and I chose not to remember what God was telling me to do.

Be careful of the people around you and the negative words that they say.

The thing is, people don't always know when they are being used by the enemy.  Much of the time they think they are helping by giving you their opinion of your situation.  These people have no say over your life.  God always has the say, but do you know what he says? This is why it is better for you to surround yourself with like minded people.  People who share your vision and people who can relate to you work.

I love my family, but sometimes they are used by the enemy so easily which is a big distraction for me.  This is another way the devil attacks, through distraction.

I was soo distracted by people, events, and work that I am falling behind on my goals.  Well I rebuke the enemy and his devour.  I will not have it anymore.  I am learning how to use my words to rebuke the demonic spirits that the enemy sends my way.  I speak out loud and with the authority given to me by God, through his son Jesus, and the power of the Holy Spirit.

We do understand that our words have power right?

When we speak negative things into the atmosphere, we attract evil spirits, evil energy.  When we speak positive words over our lives then we attract good things, positive energy, even angels.

"When you speak negative things, you attract the opponents to faith- the devil and his demons.  When you speak positive things from the scriptures, however, you attract angels, the Holy Spirit, Jesus, and Father God!"

-Sid Roth

It's Supernatural!

This is why I chose to practice speaking positive things over my life with affirmations.  The devil will no longer trick me in trying to tell me who I am.  I will no longer be distracted by his traps.   I am free in Christ Jesus.  I will have good success with out any toil.  I know that God made me for a purpose.  I know that he has plans for me, to prosper me and give me peace.  I know what the Lord wants for me and it is not that little rink-a-dink job!

I will no longer be distracted by the traps of the enemy!

Do you know the plans that God has for you?  You would if you read your bible.  You would know that this is how the devil works . . . he doesn't want you to read your bible so that you could know the promises that God has for you.  The enemy doesn't want you to know all the blessings, the inheritance, the authority, the power, and the peace God wants for you.  These promises are not only for the next world, but for this world also.  God is good all the time.  Read the Book to find out your inheritance.  We should no longer be tricked by the enemy and his kingdom.  He has no authority here.  He just makes us think that he has more power then he really does.

The enemy has come to lie, cheat, steal and destroy. That is how he works.

He does this by:

Distracting you

Giving you false promises

Trapping you in toil

Conditioning your mind to lack

We don't serve a God of lack.  We serve a God of abundance.  He wants us to live a life of abundance.  So listen to Paul when he says the following:

10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Pray Continually
18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Ephesians 6

I am praying that each of you who do read this blog,  please tap into the power of God by reading your word. Learn his will for your life.  Study his law and you will be happy in it.  God says that "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge"  Hosea 4:6

Many Christians will say that they no longer have to follow the law because they are saved by grace.  This is true, however Jesus did not come to destroy the law but he came that it may be fulfilled.  Hence, Christ is the end of the law of righteousness, which means . . . we do not have to work our way to our salvation, the price was already paid.  The grace was the gift of Jesus Christ, he died on the cross so that we can regain direct communication with the Lord.  Our righteousness is now determined by our acceptance of the gift of Jesus Christ.  Now we have a spirit worthy to communicate with God.  Let us not take that gift for granted and be thankful that we can talk to God.  How?  Through reading his word and obeying it.  His word is the law.  Here is Hosea 4:6

"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."

My point is this:  Don't forget the word of God.  We are ambassadors in his kingdom, working for him.  We do not want to work for the enemy in his Kingdom unknowingly. Don't be a distraction to other people, helping the enemy in his agenda.  You will be destroyed in this ignorance.  Instead, put on the whole armor of the Lord.  Be on the right side, learning, understanding, and remembering the law of God.

Fight against the enemy with the power of God by reading his word.  This is how you defeat the wiles of the enemy!

Keep fighting for your purpose. Keep on keeping on.  All my best.

Until Next time
-Tamorra

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:37-39

Live Life post 129 Who is your boss?

I am concerned with the condition of this world . . .

Sometimes I tell myself . . . why should I care.  Why should I care what other people are doing, or what other people are thinking or how other people are living.  I tell my husband

“You know, I am very upset about this world that we are living in. . .”

He responds with tone of humor  “Hun, why are you worried about it, it’s not like you can change the world!”

But there is a strong urge in my spirit to do just that. I want to change the world. Not knowing exactly how, and not understanding the destiny for my life but just having that feeling that something has to change. Something about this world has to change.

We are living in an illusion that we are actually working for something.  But if people were really to sit down and calculated the time they waste on things that don’t matter, than they would see that most things are vanity and vexation.  Our lives, our jobs, our sense of importance, mean nothing if we aren’t  living on purpose.  We are just working to work if we are not working for the Lord.

If you follow my blog then you would know that I have recently decided to cash in my pension and pursue a career in writing.  But my writing is not only about the love of writing, it is about the love of Christ.  I feel like I was called to do something more with my life.  I answered the call.  Not everyone understands it, but I thank God for the support I do receive from my family to follow this dream.

Now the thing is that this dream doesn’t necessarily pay the bills.  So I decided that I was going to get a little part time job to help my husband pay the mortgage and other privileges that we don’t want to live without..

So, about this part time job: I’m doing this paper route.  I’m delivering newspapers from door to door, using my own vehicle, paying for gas.  Not to mention putting wear and tear on my car.  I wake up every morning no later than 2 o’clock.  I rocket down the road like a wild banshee on the prowl.  I am doing the best I can to bag and deliver over 100 papers in under 4 hours.  I rush, counting every minute, every turn down every street, so that I can get home on time to help my children get ready for school.

I fail.

I fail repeatedly.

The weekend is the worst and I can never figure out a path that will help me deliver all  my papers by  7am.  Yesterday I had dispatch call me:

“Hello, can we speak with Tamorra?”
“This is she”
“Hey, Tamorra.  This is Courier Post dispatch. Yeah, we received 5 complaints already from your route.  What is going on?”

I didn’t really have much to say except that I was still working on it.  I was still delivering.  And I was still trying my best to finish.

I did finish.  I always finished because I am determined not to embarrass my God.  I know that I am part of the Kingdom and I know that everywhere I go, I am representing God.

So when I say, I have a problem with the condition of this world, I have a problem with the way the world will use you and use you up.  I mean, I’m working this paper route 7 days a week, every morning and no one ever called me when I did deliver all the papers on time.  But they were sure to call me when something I did, cost them money.  They were also sure to take $1.50 out of my pay when I get a complaint on my route.  I only get $.22 a paper.  That is about 22 dollars a day for 7 days which is 154.00 a week.  Minus the $70.00 of gas I spend a week, not to mention the additional maintenance I will need on my car, leaves me with $84 a week.  My car payment is 226 a month, so for 4 weeks of work I make $336.00 minus my car payment leaves me with 110 a month.  When I look at it this way I worked on average 4 hours a morning/ 7 days a week for a total 28 hours for $27.5 a week, calculating to be a little under $1 an hour.

Um, I know my worth, and this job, just wasn’t worth it, so I gave my two weeks notice.  I was very honest about it.  “This is not for me”

So I ask you: “Do you know your worth.”

God is talking to you.  He is even calling you to do a job.  And when you do a job for him all he requires is for you to keep working, keep delivering, and keep trying your best to finish your assignment.

God is the best boss

God is the best boss ever.  He understands all that we are going through on our job here on earth.  I am talking about our spiritual job.  Our calling and our purpose. He knows every pathway we will go down, and if we listen to him, he will tell us which way to go.  He knows how to train and prepare us.  He knows when to give us motivation and when to correct us.  He knows our strengths and our weaknesses.  He knows exactly where to place us so that we can do the best job ever.  He knows what our work should be so that we can meet our full potential.

Even when we fail, he gives us another chance.

Even when we quit, he never took us off of the pay roll.

He is the best boss ever.

So, when I propose in one of our meetings that I want to change the world,  He comes up with a plan for me to do just that.

Talk it over with God, he will prepare you to do exactly what you are supposed to do.  Each and everyone of us have the capacity to be part of the team to change this world for the better. You just have to decide who is going to be your boss:  The World or God. . .

Peace and blessings to you always. Start working for your purpose.

Until next time

Live Life post 128 Who are you?

Who are you?

Do you know who you are?  I mean do you really know who you are?

I want to let you know that if you don't know who you are, you will always feel an emptiness inside.  There will always be that need to do more, see more, and be more.

Why is this?

We have to look at ourselves the way that God looks at us.  God is the designer and he has created each and everyone of us with a specific design.  Our individual design was thought up because God had an intention on how to use us.  His design was determined by the job that we are supposed to do in this world . . .

Let me back up because we all need to understand who we are so that we can understand our purpose.  When an inventor invents a product, he is usually trying to address a problem or an issue that will help people.  For example, the motorized car was invented to help people get to places faster.  Sure the design has matured over the years, but we still see the original design.  You have the wheels that role, the body of the car that hold the passengers, and the motor that makes it go.  Now the intent is for this motorized vehicle to transport the passengers from one point to another.  It was specifically designed to do this, and this was the original intent of the designer/inventor.

What happens if this vehicle was no longer used to transport?

#1 The vehicle is not being used for it's original purpose or intent
#2 The designer/inventor will not see his vision fulfill it's original purpose
#3 The invention itself is being wasted

We don't want our lives to be wasted!

We want to be used for our original purpose, our original design, and God's original intent.

When we choose not to know who we are, we are choosing not to know our purpose.  When we chose to do other work in this world that God has not intended for us to do, we are being wasted.  God wants to see his vision come to life.  He is waiting on us to make that decision to be used for what he has made us for.

Each of us were designed carefully, meticulously, and methodically.  Everything that is in us was placed there for a reason.  Just like the car has a engine, a transmission, a carburetor, a battery, and so forth, you have a plethora of working parts, intricately designed for you to go.  You were designed to move.  You were designed to help other people move.  You were designed to help people get to their destinations.  You are a vehicle designed to transport.

It is important to know who you are.  It is important to learn why God has made you with the gifts and talents that you have.  There is a reason why only you can do what you do.  Find your gift and enhance it.  Practice your purpose.  Become the best at being exactly who you were designed to be.  Your design must mature in order to meet it's full potential so that you can fulfill your purpose.

So I ask you again:  Do you know who you are?

Do you know why God made you?  Or are you just closing your eyes and hoping for the best? Well, honey, you really need to open your eyes because you keep crashing into things!  We have to stop wondering why our lives are a mess!  We know why.  It is because we are not operating in our original purpose.  We often times don't know who we are!  We can't define it. We can't exactly pin point it.  There is something that is separating us from our purpose.

I encourage you to talk to the Lord.  Spend time with him.  Seek after him.  He is the designer and he will tell you why he made you.

Remember this:

In order to feel fulfilled in life, you must be used for your original intent.

Find your Purpose!

Live life post 127 Tuesday Tip to Live by

“If you’re serious about becoming a wealthy, powerful, sophisticated, healthy, influential, cultured, and unique individual, keep a journal. . .

“Don’t trust your memory. When you listen to something valuable, write it down. When you come across something important, write it down.” - Jim Rohn

If I can't say it enough, I'll think it until the Christian world understands the importance of keeping a record of your thoughts.  I kept journals in the past and have written a lot of poetry.  I always saw something different when I went back to reflect on the words I had written years before.  I always learned something new.

This blog acts as my journal.  I have been living for 36 years and collectively only have about 4 years recorded of it.  I wish I had more, I wish that I knew the value in all my past mistakes, in all my trials, and all my growth.  What were the thoughts that I was thinking?  What were the decisions that I made, big and small.  What did I learn that helped me overcome certain situations?

The Bible is a giant journal of people's lives, mistakes, good fortune, and triumphs.  This is the place to go to learn all that we need to learn. . . God already knows what we need to know how to be successful, now all we have to do is study to find out what  he needs us to know . . .

No, we can't always trust our memory.  Our brain dumps information that we haven't used.  Our brain dumps things that it thinks is not important when we haven't accessed that information in a while.  So, in order to learn and keep learning from our lives, we should really keep a journal.

Now writing in a journal is just a first step.  The next step would be to  review it on the regular.  What were some hard decisions that you had to make in your life?  What did you learn about yourself in that situation?  How could you have handled things differently?  So on and so forth.

I like to reflect and think things out.  This is a good way to be a problem solver.  Look at the facts, analyze the facts and come up with a solution.  I come up with my solutions by presenting my problems, issues, and hang ups to the Lord.  When I read the bible, the Lord shows me were I can improve.  It also gives me perspective on my life.

I am serious about my life.  I am serious about living it to the best of my ability.  I am serious about God and my faith.  Therefore, I write it down, to show God I am serious about the things that he is teaching me.  I write it down to show that I don't want to forget what God has already shown me.  I write it down because I don't want to keep making the same mistakes.  I write it down because I believe in the directions that God is giving me.  I write it down because I have faith that my hopes and my dreams will come true.  I write it down because  God told me to:

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make [it] plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

For the vision [is] yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Behold, his soul [which] is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Habakkuk 2:1-4

In context:  God was telling the prophet Habakkuk to write an announcement publically so that everyone can see it and read it.  The announcement was a vision to be announced by writing large letters on a tablet, which was a common practice back then.  Habakkuk was asking God, when would the time come where he would finally judge the wickedness of the world.  God answered him with a vision of how he would destroy Babylon (in parallel thought: also the system of Babylon, which is the world we are living in today).

God told Habakkuk to write the vision down.  What he wrote was not going to happen right away, but it will happen at the appointed time: the time that it was already decided to happen by the Lord.

side note: Let us understand that our understanding of time is not the Lord's.  God does not operate on a time line like we do.  He is infinite and always living in the present able to move in and out of the lines of time.  It is because of his infinite wisdom and understanding, that he can make the necessary calculations of what will happen, when it will happen, and how it will happen.  Now, since we live on a time line, the prophetic message will happen in our understanding of what the future is.  Our future is determined on the processes, circumstances, decisions, free will, and product of our calculations.  We are working out our future right now.  A future that God already knows!

Application:  So what does this mean for us and how can we apply this scripture?

The scripture is relevant to the time Habakkuk.  It is also relevant to us in our time.  The word of God is infinite and everlasting.  The word of God will always surpass our understanding unless we have interpretation by the Holy Spirit.  Hence, understand and hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church:

We should be writing down everything that the Lord is saying to us.  We must write it down in order for others to understand and apply the learning.  This way, we can constantly move forward.  This way we can constantly learn the ways of the Lord.  Always sharing, always teaching, and always motivating others with the word.  Even for those who are too busy to listen, even for those who are running too fast to see or read the message.  Write it down and make it plain.  Don't forget what the Lord is teaching and telling us to do.  If we do this effectively, we will grow and we will move along on this time line continuum.  But first we have to do what the Lord says do.

Additionally, everything is a parable.  God tells us stories and presents them to us in away that we can connect to them.  He is the master teacher and whoever seeks after him, gains more understanding.  So, each time you go back over the story, you get a higher understanding of the revelation.  This is why Jesus taught in parables.  It is not for everybody.  It is for those who seek after it.

Keep a journal, get a revelation from God about your purpose.  Write your purpose and don't forget it.  Love you with the love of Jesus.

Until Next Time

Live Life post 126 I don't claim waste!

It has been almost 4 days since my last post.  It has been because I have been sooooo extra busy!!  I picked up a little part time job and started posting on periscope!  Periscope is a live broadcasting platform.  That was a big move for me . . . my new out look on life is that we need to be always moving and always improving.  Growth is very important.  God wants us to grow, he wants our spirit to grow so that we can hear his voice more clear and then understand his directions . . .

So,  I started doing live posting on Periscope and I am also working on some things for YouTube.  I just have to learn how to manage all the new ventures that God needs me to do.  This is what I am learning about now:  How to manage my life!  God wants us to be good managers of the things that he gives us.  You might have heard this message before:  Be good Stewards . . .(if that is the correct way to spell it)?

What I know is that if we don't take care of the things that God has given us we will loose them in the heavenly court of law . . .

Anyway, I wish I had more time to tell you all that I did this weekend.  My sister's wedding is coming up and we had the bridal shower this weekend.  It was sooo nice,  eventually I will share pictures.  I didn't sleep for 2 nights because of all the running around I was doing, and this is another reason why I am just now writing this post.  I wanted to write all day today, however I have to run out again . . .

Deep Breath

I am noticing how the enemy likes to try to get me overwhelmed and distracted me from my purpose.  My purpose is to help others help themselves, and therefore it is important for me to keep on writing and learning the word of God.  Hence, I had to give my two weeks notice on that "part time" job that seemed to be taking up all of my time!

I don't claim waste!!

Therefore, I will not waste my time on something that is not directly tied to my purpose.  Everything has meaning now.  Everything that I do needs to be connected to my purpose.

I've been learning a lot and I have been speaking to the Lord a lot these past weeks.  I have lots to share and hopefully I will get a chance this week.  I just wanted to check in and encourage someone to connect with God.  Seek after him and he will show you something new.

Stay encouraged and start living your life on purpose.

With all my Love,
Until Next Time

Live Life Post 125 Success

Success

What does it mean to be successful?

I'm sure that everyone has his or her own opinion.  I'm sure that each motivated person has a desire to be better, do better, and achieve things in life.  I have reason to believe that even people who don't have access to inspiration still have an inner desire to do more with their life.

Don't you want to be successful?

I do, but my definition of success might be different from yours.  Your understanding of success very well may be different from others.  This is ok. . . each of us have different interests, different paths to our purpose.  Hence, we all see things just a little different from one another.

How do you see your life now?  Is your life successful?

I used to think that I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing.  I was taught to go to school, get a good job, get married, buy the house and have some kids, this was supposed to be success.  However, I didn't feel successful in this.  I had a deeper desire to achieve more. . .

I went back to school, got a better job, but soon came to realize, it wasn't getting me any further in life.  I started asking my self some pretty tough questions:

Why am I here on this earth?  What is the whole point?

Sure, I had my faith, I believed in God, but I still didn't see the point . . .Then I thought to myself, if I am supposedly "successful" in my life, then why do I feel that there really isn't any point to living, I mean really.  And how many other people feel this way?  I wanted more.

To be honest, I could see how this type of thinking could lead somebody to take their life, HOWEVER, this is not what I am promoting nor is it what I am suggesting.  In my search and in my living, I have found what it truly means to be successful.  The meaning of life really has nothing to do with what we can do for ourselves.  If we keep striving to be successful in this way, it will always lead to us wanting more.  Like it says in Ecclesiastes: All Vanity, All Vexation!

I had said once before that the meaning of life is about growth.  This is true.  God set us up so that we can achieve our potential growth, however this world has set up things that have stunted our growth.  I want to suggest to you to make changes in your life that will allow you to grow in Jesus.  Your growth will allow you to see the reason why you are here.  Yes,  there is a reason why we are on this earth. . .

We are here to fulfill the will of God . . .

And do I know what the will of God is?_ YES
And do I know why we are here on earth?_YES
Do I understand how to fulfill my destiny?_ YES

I know the Lord, and this is why I now have meaning in my life.  I am looking at life from a different perspective.  I understand that this type of connection is something that can't be taught.  This type of understanding has to be discovered.

In order to really get understanding, you have to start with the foundation.  The foundation is Jesus Christ.  Get to know him and you are getting started on the right track.

Now, I just want to help people discover the love of Jesus Christ.  Please understand that this type of love involves more than just going to church.  This type of feeling requires more than what religion requires.  This type of understanding requires dedication, love, and acceptance of the one who made us.  God wants good success for us all, but we have to be willing to take the journey.

I think that I am extremely blessed and I thank God for my family and the support that I do have from them.  But what about the people who do not have the support, and those who do not know God?

I had a neighbor not too long ago, who had two children, commit suicide because she couldn't handle life . . . and I'm like "What is going on in this world?"

This world doesn't know Jesus like I know him.  I know that I have a purpose and I know that I have a reason for living.  I know the plans that God has for me, he has plans to prosper me and plans to give me hope and a future.

Do you know God like I know him?

I encourage you to take the steps necessary to walk in your purpose.  I encourage you to take the necessary steps to learn more about the Lord.  This life is worth living when you have a reason to live it!  Live your Life and be successful in it. . .

I want to share with you this awesome speaker, Dr. Myles Munroe.  He spent his life researching and studying in order to teach people the laws of success.  These are God's laws.  These are the things that God says we should follow in order to be happy.  Study them, learn them.  Take the time to learn more about yourself and the plans that God has for you.  Take the time to find your purpose.

Life Life post 124- Practice makes Better

I write because I am serving the Lord.  I write because God needs be to be prepared for something even greater.  I am a willing servant because I am doing my work for the Lord.

What are you doing to work for the Lord?

Do you feel you have a Purpose, or a Passion for something?

Bare with me on this one because God still wants be to communicate the importance of work.  So let us talk about practice . . .

Who can become a master at something without practicing her craft?

If there was one important lesson that God has taught me throughout the years, it would be the importance of practice.

When I was younger I had a desire to play the piano.  I was fascinated with how a player's fingers would glide across the ivory keys to produce melodic sounds of soothing ointment.  I would listen and watch my uncle play at church.  I asked him once, “How do you do that?” and he responded “Practice.”

So that is just what I did.  First of all, I had to start,  that wasn’t a problem.  I had such a desire for it that I would just pretend to play, I didn’t even have a piano yet.  My dad found me a keyboard once, I played that.  Later on my dad found me an old piano, keys missing, and way out of tune, but I would practice 3 to 4  hours a day.  I would just make up stuff on that old rickety piano and it made me very happy.  Pretty soon my mom thought it was time for me to get some lessons.  I had a little back ground in the notes, but the growth that I had received by learning techniques and songs from my teacher laid the foundation of my music style today.

It was hard at first, learning scales, learning how to read music, and learning how to read music and play at the same time . . . but I wouldn’t have that skill today if it wasn’t for the passion that I had for it, the persistence that I gave towards it, and the practice I put in, in order to obtain it.

God wants to instruct us is how to live a better life.  A life full of passion and purpose.  A Life that will make us feel happy.  But we have to first understand what he wants us to practice in order to fulfill our purpose.

One of my daughters teacher’s used to tell her class:

“Practice doesn’t necessarily make perfect, but it definitely makes better. . .”

This is one thing that I have found to be true:

Practice makes better, God makes perfect.

It is God that will give you the passion and the drive to achieve whatever it is you put your mind to achieve.  Why? Because God wants good success for you.  He made that plan for you and that is why you have a desire to obtain your dreams.  But anyone who knows anything about dedication and hard work knows that being great at something takes practice and persistence.

How do you think Jesus was able to achieve all that he was able to achieve.  Did he just sit on his couch all day and say “Look at me everybody, I'm the Son of God.  Now go get me the remote and some water I thirst!”  No, that is not what happened.  Jesus had to become successful at his gift in order to become influential to people.  He had to do it before people would follow him.  He had to learn it and practice it before he was able to teach it and show it to others.  He had to work at it.

Some people would argue: “No that can’t be right, there is freedom in Christ!”  Yeah you would say that if you didn’t read the scriptures and were looking for an excuse to be lazy!!!

A Christian Life is not about putting up your feet and relaxing.  A Christian life should be about working for the Lord.  I encourage you to start by studying the word of God and learn the importance of practice.

My desire is to keep studying this, but I really feel we have a lot of work to do in order to change our mindsets as Christians.  Let us all be workers for the Lord.

Until Next Time

Live Life Post 123

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Proverbs 139:14

Hello Friends,

I was really getting ready to post something different but then the 123 caught my attention!

Life is as easy as 123

It is my one hundredth and twenty third post and I am excited that I made it this far.  You see I never really knew what being a blogger was or what it was really all about.  But I started something new and it is very fulfilling to me.  It is leading me to a place that I might not have otherwise envisioned for my self.  It got me to think . . . what if I did this a lot sooner, where would I be now?

You see, what I am learning in my journey is that every little decision we make is important.  Each question we answer and each turn we make on our path to purpose is important.  We collectively need to stop making the wrong turns that lead us away from our purpose.  We should make those decisions that will lead us away from a life of normality.

God did not make us to be normal.

Still, we make normal decisions in order to live normal lives . . .

If you want to be somebody, and if you want to be influencial in this world,  you have to make influential decisions.  You must take a path away from normal.

God is spectacular, supernatural, all knowing, and all powerful, and we are his creation.  Again I say, there is nothing normal about that.  We are his children and therefore we are AWESOME!

God has a specific plan and purpose for our lives.  We just need to learn how to listen to his directions so that we make the right decisions.  Detours will no longer be necessary when we adhere to the word of God.  God wants us to have an extraordinary life.  This is why he promised us everlasting life, that is pretty extraordinary!

But how do we learn how to live in his heavenly presence?  Well, we definitely have some growing up to do.  Hence, the whole purpose of living this life.  We are constantly learning, constantly growing, and constantly maturing in what we are being taught.  Now, the thing that you have to ask yourself is . . . Am I being taught the right thing?

I talk with the Lord constantly.  He is giving me understanding of who he is and who he has made me to be.  Therefore, I understand that I have a purpose and he will provide truth as I need it to reach my destination.  I no longer need to be extraordinary for myself,  but I now desire to be extraordinary for my Lord.

I said all that to say this . . .

When you build your relationship with the Lord, leading an extraordinary life is as simple as 123

#1 Let the Lord show you your purpose

#2 Have a vision for where you want to go

#3 Keep making the right decisions to reach your destination

Yep, that's it.  Break it down and make it simple!

Put a little AWESOME SAUCE on that!

God is Awesome which makes you Awesome!

Now Go find your Purpose!

Live Life 122 A Mother's Day Message

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

I did.  I had a good time at church.  I had a wonderful time with my parents and my kids at Olive Garden.  Good Times . . .

I wanted to share with you guys what I learned this Sunday in a post I would like to start calling:

What did the preacher preach about?

I myself, being a student of the Lord, come to the sanctuary with pen and paper in hand, ready to receive a good word.  I hope that you do the same.  Take notes and don't let the enemy steal the truth from you.  I pray that you listen to the words the preacher preaches on Sunday and hold on to the truth that will help you grow.

When ever the preacher is preaching, I listen attentively.  I know that there is something in this brain of mine that needs a push to gain more understanding of the word of God.  So I sit, I listen, I take notes, then I make connections to what I already know.  Comparing, contrasting, and then later applying it to my life.

Samuel Chapter 1

The preacher preached about Hannah.  She was a woman who was sad and felt like she had no purpose in life because she could not have children.  She felt like she was worthless and that she could not please her husband because of her bareness.  She was heavy with sorrow.  Every year she went with her husband, his other wife and his children to the Temple.  Every year she was made to feel bad about her condition.  She didn't eat and she cried often.

She wanted so bad to have a child of her own.  She wanted so bad to please her husband.  She wanted so bad to have self-worth.

This was a good mother's day message:

A Mother's Life, A Mother's Purpose

Let me share with you the three points that the preacher talked about . . .

#1 "Prayer will take the weight of the world off of you."

My reflection:

One thing I noticed when I went back to read the scripture, Hannah was burdened about her condition year after year.  She cried and she did not eat, but it never mentioned that she prayed about it.  The scripture said that she was "provoked" by her adversary (her opponent).  In the natural her opponent would have been Peninnah, her husband's other wife.  Remember when Paul, in the new testament, talked about his thorn?  That thing that would not give him peace, and he asked for God to take it away.  God said that his grace was sufficient. Every body has a thorn. But God's grace is always sufficient.  The thorn could be something or someone that just won't let you rest about how you feel about yourself.   It was so bad that the bible said Hannah was miserable all the time because of her condition.

Hannah had a husband that loved her and that was concerned about her.  Hannah had her health, Hannah had a roof over her head, but she still felt worthless because of what she didn't have.  She was concentrating on what she didn't have.

It may seem that the enemy can provoke us to feel a certain way about ourselves. But what is really happening is that little bit of what we don't have is what we concentrate on.  You don't have to stay in this mindset if you learn how to give it to the Lord.  You will stay in self pity until you have had enough!  The adversary in the spiritual will attack you and will provoke you. He will tempt you and you will fall in that temptation if you do not know or see the truth.  The truth is that we are all wonderfully made in the image of the father.  The truth is that each one of us is special.  I read the chapter and it seemed like Hannah chose to live this miserable life because she could not see any worth in herself.

What God wants to tell his people is that we do have worth.  God wants to share with us that the battle is not ours but it is the Lords.  God's grace is sufficient. Let us understand that all the crying the moaning and the weeping is not what gets the adversary off of your back.  It was not until Hannah went to the Lord in prayer, and asked the Lord to help her.  "Remember thine handmaid . . .give unto thine handmaid a man child, and I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life . . ."

I want to point out that it was not the vow that she made that made God to bless her, but it was the fact that she finally came to him in prayer, poured out her soul and asked.  Then it could be done, to the glory of the Lord because she was telling the truth.  And she herself finally believed that God would do it for her, and she became happy herself, believing in the grace of God.  God's grace could now work for her.

If you have a strong desire for something, you can ask the Lord for it in prayer.  Hannah pleaded with God.  Samuel 1:11 says that Hannah was in the Temple, and in her heart she prayed to God.  When she made her promise, she had vowed a vow.  She asked God not to forget her and to hear what she was saying.  She asked the Lord to bless her with a son and if he did then she would dedicate him back to the Lord.

Eventually,  the Lord did bless Hannah with a son, and his name was Samuel.  She nursed him, and raised him until about the age of 3 and returned him to the Temple to Eli, the priest.  God blessed Hannah, and Hannah kept her vow.

Remember to pray, believing that God will do for you.  The tempter will flee from you, if you resist.  He can only use what you already think about yourself.  So start thinking good about yourself.  The adversary can not make you miserable if you refuse to miserable. Look around and be thankful for what you have.  Ask the Lord for what you desire, sincerely, believing that he will do it for you.  You do not need to carry all that weight on your own.  Pray and give it to God.

#2 "When you make a promise to the Lord, you better keep your promise"

Hannah kept her promise to the Lord.  What do you think would have happened to Hannah if she did not keep her promise?

Look, this following Jesus thing, it is no joke.  We really have to be careful of what we do and why we do it.  We must understand that when we make that decision to follow Jesus Christ we are making a vow unto the Lord.  We are making a promise that we will adhere to the law of the Lord.  God does not want for us to be heavy with the weight of disobedience.  We should know that disobedience brings consequences.  Breaking vows or promises to the Lord is in direct conflict of his word.

The words says when a man makes a vow to the Lord he should keep it:

"If a man vow a vow unto the Lord, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeded out of his mouth . . ."

Numbers 30:2

This chapter goes on to explain what happens if a woman makes a vow, and all the stipulations, but basically it is the same thing:  If you make a promise to God, keep your promise.  There are blessings that come with you keeping your word.  There are also curses that come if you do not keep your word.  God knows when you are telling him the truth.  He knows when you are truly pouring out your heart to him.  You can't fool God.

Most people, most Christians, would say that this is part of the old testament law, but I am here to tell you that the word of God and it's truth lasts forever.   We are taught that we are saved by grace, and this is true, but this is only the first step.  Now we must be doers of the word and follow the truth that is written.

Keep your promises to the Lord.

#3 "Every woman should take care of her children.  Raising them up with the knowledge of God."

Women are strong.  Every woman has the power with in herself to raise their children.  Why?  Because God made her with that compassion, with that protectiveness, and with a spirit of kindness.  God made her with the same DNA of the man because she came from man, hence she is strong.   She is strong in mind, emotion, and spirit.

Women are strong emotionally and God knew that Hannah could handle the pressure of feeling sad.  It was a heavy burden, but this story shows the strength of a woman.  No matter how hard it gets, there is that strength way deep down that says, enough is enough,  "I am going to get what I want because I want it so bad!"  Let every woman have a desire and let that desire be to please the Lord.  Let us raise up our children in the way of the Lord, dedicating them back to the Lord because he is the one who has blessed us with them.  We should be thankful always, for this purpose that God has given us.  If you are a single mother, you have strength.  If you have to adopt, you have strength.  If you foster children, you have strength.  This is a word to all mothers: if you have your children, raise them up in truth because this is right.

We should take care of our children well, with the strength that God gave us to do so. Hannah was happy that she was finally able to live in her purpose of being a mother.   She was strong and she was determined to have purpose.  I encourage you to plead with the Lord for your purpose.

These are just some of my reflections.  I encourage you to go back and read Samuel. Let the Lord talk to you about your life.  God bless you always.

Until Next Time
