Day 17: Live Life Devotional

Day 17
Let’s Review

I said on day 10 that we were going to explore these following concepts from Rick Warren’s Purpose Driven Life Journal:

This Life is not about You

You are not an accident

Priorities are important

You were made to live forever

So far we should understand that this Life is not about our personal fulfillment or happiness, instead it is fulfilling God’s purpose that he has already written for us. It is through obeying God’s word, and meeting our destiny that we will ever truly be happy . . .

Therefore,

You are not an accident. You were made to do something here on this earth. We have a duty to fulfill. We all have a purpose to fulfill. It is so important not to get distracted by things that are not important.

Therefore,

We need to get our priorities in order. Remember, Jesus did not go around pointing the finger to make everyone feel bad about themselves. He did not shame them on the way they lived their lives. No. Instead, he was a teacher who told people that it was a must to change their perspective so that they can live forever in a heavenly Kingdom.

Therefore,

It is imperative to change your perspective to an eternity perspective. You were made to live forever! You are a spirit, in a body, living here on earth. Remember when I mentioned that the things that we can see are temporary, but the things that you can’t see are forever. Well, you can see your body and it will die and go back into the earth, hence “ashes to ashes and dust to dust.” Your spirit you can’t see, but it will last forever!

What does your idea of heaven look like? The more you envision it correctly, the better chance you have to get there. The more you envision the idea of eternity, the more it is a part of you and a part of your heart. Remember, what you treasure is where your heart will be. Let us treasure our everlasting life in the everlasting Kingdom.

Meditate on this verse that Jesus is telling everyone here on earth regarding an eternal home:

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

John 14: 1-4
