Day 14
You must set up your priorities
It is easy for us to get caught up with life. We have a lot of things on our plate and have too many obligations to fulfill.
Our society tells us that we should be concerned about our education, about our careers, and about providing for our families. This is understandable if we are only receiving these messages from our modern society. In contrast, If we were listening to God's directions we would know that, although it is ok to have these things in life, they should not be the priority.
Let us get our priorities in order!
Our church may say things like “Put God first,” “In all your ways acknowledge him,” or “make sure you spend time with God.” But what do all of these words really mean?
What happens when life gets so busy that we don’t have time, to spend time?
Unfortunately, this is a common problem in most of our lives. We just don’t have time to spend with God and then we try to tell ourselves that God understands.
Well, God understands that we are not that advanced in our spiritual walks. He knows that we have to grow into our spiritual maturity. That is why reading a devotional, or reading your bible, or hanging around other spiritually minded people can help grow you in your purpose.
I encourage you to prioritize your time with God. Try your hardest to do this Devotional everyday. You may even find a more creative way to spend time with God after these 40 days. Your special way to spend time with God is between you and God. You just have to make God a priority in your life.
