Day 18: Live Life Devotional

Day 18

You were made to live Forever

We must learn to adopt the perspective of eternity.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Ecclesiates 3:11

“You have an inborn instinct that longs for immortality. This is because God designed you, in his image, to live for eternity. The reason we feel we should live forever is because God wired our brains with that desire! God has planted eternity in the human heart.”
-Rick Warren

So we must ask ourselves;

"Why do I have this hope that there is another life, a better life after death?"

The answer is that God has hidden it in our hearts.  We have a desire to live forever which pushes us to achieve and drives us to learn.  We are programmed to grow just  like the seed is programmed to grow.  You have everything inside of you that you need to grow.  You are supposed to grow into the person God needs you to become forever.

Who is the forever you?

God gave us the gift of this life to live, to learn, and to grow.  It is so very important to understand that the life you live now will determine your position in eternity.  You must live your life on purpose.  It is such a short life to live when you have the perspective of eternity.  What you do with your life today is important for your forever.  How you listen and obey God's voice is important.

Did you know that you are adding up accolades and rewards from your father in heaven?  Yes, whenever you are doing the will of God through your peace making, humbless, your loving nature, your bold stance for his word; you are indeed gaining an reward!!

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven! Matthew 5:12

As you build your relationship with the Lord and walk closer to your purpose you will gain more and more insight about how you were made to live forever.

Let us meditate on this verse:

Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Matthew 25:21

You are beautiful, wonderful, and amazing in your time appointed here on this earth.  You start small but you grow into something amazing! Soon it will be time to graduate again. We all graduate at different times and at different levels. We will soon have an eternal life in an eternal body.
