Day 11
This Life is not about You
In the grand scheme of things, this life is not about you. This life is about God. This is a very hard pill to swallow for a lot of us. Why? Because we are trained to live for ourselves, to take care of ourselves, and to run the race of self fulfillment and success. However, if you love God, this is not what is truly in your heart.
It is hard to give up control over your life when you believe that you and only you are capable of doing things correctly. Growing our relationship with the Lord is absolutely necessary in learning how to trust him. We must trust that the Lord knows what he is doing. After all, this Life is not about us, it is about the Lord.
We must seek God in all of his righteousness. The promise is that he will take care of us. He said that he will take care of our food, our clothing, our shelter, and our, all together, well being. God is our father, and he knows our needs. We must trust that he will take care of us.
Once we get over the worry of surviving, we can move on to more important issues. We can start asking God “What do you need me to do?” This is a question that will guide you closer to your ultimate purpose.
Meditate on this verse:
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:31-33 KJV
