Day 12
This Life is not about the pursuit of happiness
It is a funny thing to say because most people would respond, “Well of course it is!”
The truth is, the pursuit of happiness is a man made idea that we often aspire to achieve. But in order for us to understand God’s purpose, we must read his word. The word of God said that the meaning of this life is about the coming of the Kingdom and not the pursuit of personal happiness.
When Jesus was here he spent time with his father so that he would know what to do next. There came a time of a major transition in his ministry where Jesus started only teaching about the coming of the Kingdom. He encouraged listeners to change their minds about what they thought life was about and start living for the Kingdom of Heaven. (see Matthew 4:17)
I know that it can be hard sometimes giving up our wrong thinking. God tells us not to depend on our own way of thinking, but to trust God in everything and he will direct us in the way we need to go.
Let us meditate on this verse today:
