How do I promote myself and my business on social media?

It is Freedom Friday

It is a Freedom Friday where I love to connect you to information about the mind bondage that we all are in.  We want to start to gain the insight to these systems that have been set up by the world kingdom.  We as Christians should follow the Heavenly Kingdom.  I follow people who I believe are true believers in the words that Jesus speaks.  Until they prove me otherwise I will listen to their council.  So I am going to share with you two videos that I found about how to promote yourself on social media by Rachel Hollis.

As bloggers, entrepreneurs, and business minded people, we know the importance of the Internet and the Power behind it's influence.  Although it may have been a tool designed to trick the minds of the masses, it can be an awesome resource to spread the truth about the Kingdom of Heaven.

I'm not a very social person. People always ask me why I never pick up my phone . . . because I'm either

#1 Not near my phone and don't feel like answering calls

#2 I am busy and don't feel like answering calls

or

#3 Relaxing and don't want to talk to you.

This is why I am thankful that God sent me friends that don't mind my social awkwardness. We could go months with out speaking but then just pick right back where we left off.  This is how I feel about relationships; they should be long lasting.  Relationships should be cultivated and tested by time.  This is how you truly get to know someone.  So, why do I have to promote myself on social media?

The Answer:  because it is good for business, Kingdom business . . .

I have been asking God lately . . .why am I doing all of this? Why did I enter into this world of social media  propaganda?

I fundamentally feel that this is what Jesus was talking about when he said the end times would be full of a bunch of self loving, self absorbed,  and selfish people.  The end will be full of people that believe a lie rather than the truth.  The people of the world will be tricked by many seducing spirits.

I don't want people to stay asleep on what is really going on in the world!

So many of us stay asleep to what is really going on.  But we have directions to watch and pray:

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. . .

. . .Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.  And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Mark 13:33-37

WAKE UP!!!

His people will be those who spread the word of his coming and provide information about the Kingdom of heaven.  His people will heal infirmities, and do great exploits.  I pray that I don't become a person seeking affirmation from my social media following.   Let me just say that I care about your soul and I am not doing this for a popularity contest.

So the thing is, I am not used to this idea of having to promote myself.  Having to show people in a snap shot who I am.  Maybe I don't want you to know me in a snap!

However,

This is how people think now a days:

Instant with Instagram
In a snap with Snap Chat
All about You with YouTube
Tweet self Talk with Twitter
Pin it quick with Pinterest

This world is an instant gratification mess!

It is all about . . .

Your Likes, Your Pics, Your following!

It is exhausting!!  It is at least for a person like me.  I don't like talking to people that much.  It is easier to stay hidden in the corner, but God called me to something greater, so I will keep going . . .

I have to get out of my box and learn that in these times, promoting myself means promoting the Kingdom.  Everyday, a person, whom ever he or she may be, is promoting himself.  His likes, his dislikes, and his beliefs.  Don't ever compromise on your beliefs.  If you are a follower of Christ, share that with the world.

You are promoting yourself!

You are promoting the Kingdom!

So, this will probably be my last post this week.  If you missed any of my post through out the week go back and check them out.  I have been promoting Rachel Hollis, a Christian Entrepreneur with a lot to offer her community.  Eventually I will be doing a book review of her book, "Girl, Wash Your Face."  I will also do a review of her new book coming out in March call "Girl, Stop Apologizing," available now for preorder.

-until next time

Oh, Shout out to Giulia!  I will check out your site and get back to you.
Everyone, go see what Giulia is talking about, she is a fashion blogger.  Perhaps she can give us fashion advice and teach us how to promote ourselves that way!

Remember to keep living life and to live it on purpose!

the importance of self care

Welcome to Throwback Thursday!

I have a few things to throw at you . . .

First of all,  I watched a live broadcast of Rachel Hollis and her Hubby Dave yesterday . . .It was very good and very informative.  She did a reading of her brand new book called "Girl, Stop Apologizing."  I recorded it but then lost it because I never saved it!!!

What did I get out of it?

Basically, if you need help, ask for help.  You were never meant to do this alone. . .

Here is the thing friends, we are way too stressed and way too overwhelmed with soo many things.  We really need to start taking a lot of these things off of our shoulders and let other people help us complete our purpose.  When we start changing our mind set about having to do this alone, the Lord will send you help.  You are the one that has to make the decision to change your perspective!

So, I remember writing this article about two years ago called "Prioritize Your Purpose."  It was about how to follow God's direction and make that a priority in your life.  One of those directions was to take care of yourself.  The reasoning behind this realization is simply this gist: you cannot possibly take care of other people until you learn how to take care of yourself.

Change your perspective:

Take care of yourself so that you have the energy to take care of others!

Friends, the thing is as mothers, as fathers, as business people, as volunteers for ministry, as workers in the field, and as people with to-do lists; we have a lot on our plates.  It is necessary for you to have an outlet and a down time in order to recalibrate, refocus, and rejuvenate your mind.

"And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:"
Mark 2:27

This is not a new idea for God's people.  The Lord told us to have a sabbath day and to keep it holy.  This means that we should keep it separate from all the other days that we have.  This day should be a relaxed day.  It should be a day spent in meditation on the word of God.  It should be a day to talk to God and seek direction for your life.

Many of us may not be at that point to where we are in constant fellowship with the Lord but I encourage you to start putting a day aside that you don't have to answer to the stresses of the world.  You don't have to do everything!  You weren't made to do EVERYTHING.  You have a specific and individual gift that you are supposed to cultivate and nourish.  We all must learn how to prioritize our purpose.

The Lord will always lead you to your purpose, especially when you make it a priority.  Check out that article by clicking the link below:

Prioritize Your Purpose!

I wanted to lead with that so that you can understand my passion for mental health.  I think taking care of your mind is a very necessary thing to do in order to keep living this life.  Remember what the Lord said through Paul:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8

The following is what Rachel had to say on her about page about her life.  I like the fact that she gives her self grace.  She knows that she is only human and therefore she doesn't put a lot of expectations on herself.  She focuses on what she is good at, then she gets help with all the rest!

I’m Rachel Hollis, a proud working mama with four kids and an ultra hunky husband. I worship coffee like a deity, I read books like my life depends on it and think vodka with La Croix is one of the greatest inventions of the last decade.

When it comes to women, there always seems to be a question about how we can balance everything. Girl, I don’t even try!

I’ve got four kids (one of which is the gorgeous queen I’m holding above) and whether I’m at home with them or at Chic HQ with the team, life is never calm and balanced. Instead, I embrace my chaos and seek only to feel centered amongst the flurry. The babies and housework and spreadsheets and meetings and 5th birthday parties to plan, along with a million other things that might overwhelm me? They are just a list of my many, many blessings.

Friends, I love sharing real people with you.  I think it is important to share with you a different perspective of what a follower of Christ looks like.  I love the fact that Rachel is a successful Christian that can share her perspective with us.  Learn more about the new book that is available for preorder "Girl, Stop Apologizing."  It will be out in March 2019.  Also, check out more about Rachel and Dave's new Pod Cast called "Rise Together," by clicking the link below.

Believe in your Dreams: Wisdom Wednesday

Give yourself permission to be Awesome!

Have you not done so yet?

You have to know that by this point I should have learned a better word other than awesome to describe the awesomeness that is in you, but it seems like awesome is the most awesomnest word to use to explain your awesomticity!

You are Awesome!

Hence,  God wants to make a way for you to become your most awesome self.  He gives us the tools and he gives us the instruction manual.  It is now time for us to start using these things to our advantage.  Not to fulfill our selfish ways, but to help build up the Kingdom of heaven.

I have been researching and writing down patterns of the most successful people in the world, save and unsaved.  I have found that the law is not a respecter of persons.  This means that God has set up a system for you to win!

The rules are simple:

Successful people write things down.  Successful people take time to think.  Successful people understand habits, cycles, and vision.  Successful people dream and believe in their dreams!

Get your vision:

How do you get your vision?

Start dreaming and you will catch your vision . . .
You literally have to give your mind a chance to wander. . .

Write down your vision
Write down goals to help you get to your vision
Write down strategies/ ideas and plans
Pray about it and get clear on your vision
Start out broad then hone in and focus
Focus, work, and trust that God will lead you through

It all starts by believing

Believe in God
Believe in his Son
Believe in the promise

This is a whole training program.  If you can start by believing in something that you can't see.  You can believe in anything.  You can believe in the  'Awesomness ' that is you.

Are you on the right track?  Has God given you a vision for your life?  Do you believe it?

You need to get to the point where you believe it and know it so much that you are not worried about what other people think of you.  You need to feel it in your bones and know who you are.  When you hear the word "No" you take as a sign to keep going.

You do not have permission to quit!

Here are some main points that I got from the Rachel Hollis's talk that I am sharing with you:

  • "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are"  meaning that life is all about perspective.
  • You are the only one that will light your soul on fire.
  • You have to decide to pursue your wildest dreams.
  • You should not give up on your dreams just because someone told you no.
  • Write down your dreams and goals.  Write everything down like you couldn't fail.
  • Don't compromise on your values.
  • "It is hard work following a dream"  Don't you dare give up!
  • Your dream is worth fighting for.
  • You do not have permission to quit!

I find things (like books, talks, videos, blogs, people)  that are exactly the message that the Lord gave me in my book "Transitions Into Life."  We need to know why we are here.  We need to know why God has made us.  So many of us are looking for the meaning of life and we haven't found it yet.  Why?  Because we don't take the time to dream.  We don't take the time to believe in something greater.  We don't spend time with our creator in order to hear his voice.  After you watch this video, click the link below to get the first half of my book "Transitions Into Life."  I feel that it will really help you in your journey to find your purpose.

Hope you are enjoying this series on Rachel Hollis!
Leave a comment I would love to here from you . . .

What are some of your goals and dreams?
I challenge you to write them now in the comments . . .

Embrace the Chaos: Rachel Hollis Speech

This is a teacher Tuesday moment.
Let us look at Ms. Rachel Hollis's talk about allowing Jesus to handle the chaos in our lives.

I wanted to introduce you to Rachel Hollis this week because she has an awesome story of process.  The Lord allowed her business to grow in front of our very eyes on the Internet.  She is an example of a regular person who chose to do what she loved in life.  She is a mom and a wife, an entrepreneur, and a Christian.  I am choosing to put her in my tribe.  She doesn't know it yet, but she is one of my dear friends along with Tiffani Montgomery!

Look everyone, I am not doing this to encourage people to cyber stalk well known, successful entrepreneurs on the Internet!  This is not my purpose. . .  I just am convince that there is a better way to live this life.  There is a better way than working a 9 to 5 job that you hate.  There is a better way to live other than being stressed by the people we chose to keep in our live.  There is a better way to live other than being overwhelmed with all the STUFF that we have to do!  We have to start making better choices for our life.

We must trust the Lord to handle our stress for us!

This is why I am referring you this video  about embracing the chaos.  Realizing that, with the Holy Spirit,  we have the skills to navigate ourselves through all the trials, troubles, and test that this world throws at us.  We can do this.  We have permission from our Lord and Savior to be awesome!  We were never meant to do it by ourselves.  The Holy spirit is here to help us get to the goal he has written for us.

I love the way that Rachel explains this so simply.  She says to give yourself permission to fail sometimes.  Give yourself some grace.  Allow yourself to learn from your mistakes and grow in your shortcomings.  We don't have to be so hard on ourselves.  No, we don't have it all figure out, but that is OK.  We with figure it out during the journey.

Did you know that the Lord isn't as hard on us as we are on ourselves.  He tried to teach us forgiveness.  Let us learn that lesson and start forgiving ourselves. Forgiveness is a necessary spiritual exercise that we must all practice in order to keep moving forward in our lives.  Practice forgiveness.  Give your self some grace.

#1 Give yourself some grace.

#2 This life is about allowing God to handle the Chaos in your life.

Those are two main points that she made in this speech.   I embrace this.  I understand that I am perfect to God just the way that I am,  I don't have to try harder, be better, or pray more.  He loves me regardless!  He loves you too.  Allow him to handle the Chaos in your life.

Check it out when you get a chance by clicking the video embedded in this post.

Also, a lot of what she was saying are the things that I write about on my blog and in by book.  Check out the links if you would like to learn more about you purpose here on earth. . .

Motivation for Monday: Girl. Wash Your Face

This post is getting a lot of attention, so I decided to write an updated version about Rachel Hollis on my Website.  Read this one, but if you are looking for info on Rachel, check this out:

https://artteacher4purpose.com/2019/01/28/rachel-hollis-girl-stop-apologizing/

On this Motivation for Monday I want to encourage you to be a dreamer.  Believe those things that the Lord has placed in your heart.  Believe that your father has good gifts for his children.  Stop believing the lies that the world tells you about how your life is supposed to be.  You are fearfully and wonderfully made.  I believe this for you, please believe it for yourself.
I was braiding hair the other day (because that is my side hustle) and I was listening attentively to the young lady sitting in my chair.  I braided and she talked about life.  She expressed with ease the ups and the downs, the tragedies, and the blessings.  She did it with such matter- of -factness that I was in awe of her strength and perspective of life.  This young lady has been through so much.  She had just lost a friend from suicide, a coworker friend from breast cancer, and she herself had just won a battle with the big C.  Yet, she keeps pressing on as she synthesizes to me:

"What are you going to do, just sit back and die?  No, you have to keep living, I mean this is what happens in life.  Everybody goes through something. . ."

Everybody goes through something . . .

This is so true.  We all have our battles to fight and our mountains to climb.  We each have our tests to pass and our blessings to receive.  This is why we have to keep going, keep fighting, and keep living to receive everything that the Lord has for us.  What God has for you is for you.  No one can take it away from you.  It is only you that can't see, turns away from, or just doesn't recognize the path to the good stuff.  I want to pray for you to recognize the path to your blessings:

Lord, I pray that your people start to recognize their blessings

I pray that they start to see how special you have made them

I pray that eyes are opened and the people start living in their purpose

I pray that we stop believing the lies that the enemy has presented to us as truth.

I pray that you begin to restore all the riches, all the blessings, and all the Glory to your name.

We support the building up of your Kingdom by living in the truth of your promises.

We reject the lies

We reject the negative thoughts and we accept the goodness of your word.

Help us to live this life. Amen.

Girl, Wash Your Face

So, I was in Barnes and Noble the other day with my hubby.  It was our anniversary and I suggested that we do something that we used to do back in the day; spend all day in the book store.  So, that is what we did.  One of the books that I picked up was "Girl, Wash Your Face" by Rachel Hollis.  It was a book that I was meaning to read because I started to follow her on social media years ago.  The following is what I know:
Rachel is a PK.  I always remember those who claim this because I am also a PK (preacher's kid).  She was a girl who started a life style website that suddenly blew up because she posted a picture of herself in a bikini showing all of her mommy stretch marks.  The post went viral.  As a result, she became a very requested speaker around the nation and eventually around the world.  Her website blew up and her business did as well.  I catch her speeches on YouTube and they are very inspirational. I have been following her for a while and I notice her growth as a person, as an entrepreneur, and as a speaker.  I am always eager to introduce another Christian example of how to live life on purpose. I am excited to do a series on her this week; so stay tuned for that.

So, the point I am trying to make is that she did not start off as a well known entrepreneur, speaker, author, or woman of God.  She grew into it.  She navigated herself in the truth of who God told her she was.  In her book, "Girl Wash Your Face."  Rachel Hollis encourages you to stop believing the lies that the world has told you to believe about yourself.  This life is worth living.  This life can be a great life.  You don't have to do everything, but just be good at what you are good at.

Here is your motivation for Monday:

You were meant to be great!

You were meant to be awesome!

You were made to live a great life!

What God has for you, it is for you!

Here's the thing;  We can continue to live in the lie or we can pick ourselves up and start living.  We need to make different choices, better choices.  We don't always have to be down in life.  Life doesn't always have to be ruff.  We can change our perspective and say:

I am going to keep on living because life is good.

There is something in it for me!

There is something in this life for you.  There is something great in this life for you.  Pick yourself up.  Get dressed and wash your face.  What God has for you it is for you!  Once you change your perspective, the Lord will restore everything that you have lost, plus more.

When the Lord restored the fortunes ofa Zion,
we were like those who dreamed.b
2Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”
3The Lord has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
4Restore our fortunes,c Lord,
like streams in the Negev.
5Those who sow with tears
will reap with songs of joy.
6Those who go out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with them.

Psalms 126 NIV

You now have permission to be a dreamer
