Day 1: Live Life Devotional

Day 1
Prepare your Mind

Before we begin, we have to condition our minds to know that God means us well.  He does not mean to do us harm or lead us in the wrong direction.  God wants us to find our Purpose in Life.  He wants us to be successful in our assignments.  The thing is that all of our assignments are slightly different in the process.

We are many different people working towards the same goal.  When we work towards the same goal of spreading the good news about Jesus and his Kingdom, then we are fulfilling our purpose on earth.

The problem is, that our minds are not always prepared to receive our specific assignments. This is where most people get hung up.  We often times feel like there has to be something more to this life then just living and dying.  Sometimes it can get very frustrating, and discouraging when underneath you feel like there is not point to it all.  This is why it is important to find your purpose in life.  Life is then worth the living.

If you have this pull to know more about your purpose, then you have the desire to know truth.  God wants you to know the truth.  God wants you to be successful in uncovering and learning the truth about your total purpose.

With that said I will be using the following term repeatedly in this devotional . . . Meditate

Meditation is a term God uses  to encourage you to think on his words. I'm not referring to the world's interpretation of emptying your mind, not at all. Instead we are talking about the counsel that we get from the wisdom of the word, the Holy Bible. It is wise for us to fill our minds with the word of God and think on these words day and night.

Let us meditate on the following verse:

Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.
Joshua 1:8 NIV
