Words are Powerful
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it shall eat from the fruit thereof."
Proverbs 18:21
This means that we have to be very careful about the words that we speak.
This week I am going to share with you the power of words. For the last 42 days I have been sharing quotes from a daily calendar that I found at the flea market . . . it is starting to let me down because I'm not agreeing with all of the quotes. We have to be very careful of what we feed our spirit. Sometimes things can sound real good to the ear but it won't line up with God's word. If it contradicts God's word, then it is not truth and we must throw it out. It is important that our motivation lines up with the word of God.
We don't want to get counsel from the ungodly and therefore we don't want to sow a seed that is not of God. We have to be very careful to plant good seed into our spirits so that the right type of fruit grows up within us. I talked about the fruits of the spirit before in a past post. You can read about those fruits in Galatians 5:22. But in short, we want to read and study the word of God so that the spirit of the Lord can continue to grow in us. When we see things like love, peace, joy, and patience in our lives, then we know that we are planting the right kind of seed.
This is the thing, we have to start making a conscious effort of putting the right things in our minds and hearts so that we can start calling the right things into our life. This is what I am going to be talking about this week. I want to help you change your life by helping you plant the right seed in order to change your thinking habits and therefore your speaking habits.
The word of God is seed, it can also be water, and it is also the tool to condition the soil. Your body is the soil that holds your soul and your spirit. God wants to condition your soil so that he can plant a good seed in your spirit. He also wants us to understand this law and how it works for us. But in order to grasp these concepts in full we have to study the real power of the word of God.
What scriptures do you know that explain how powerful our words are?
Follow along this week, I believe this will be a good study.
I pray that this is helpful in your journey to find your purpose.
Until Next Time
