Live Life: Be Happy /Day 35-36

Day 35-36 "Be happy- not because everything is good, but because you have the power to see the good in everything."

God allows things to happen in our life so that we can grow and learn from those experiences. The goal is that we no longer live in sin, to the lust of men, but that we change our minds to live for God. When we start living for God, our whole perspective on life starts to change.

God tells us that when we live our lives for him then we are welcoming the Holy Spirit to plant seeds of righteousness. These seeds then eventually grow and grow until they produce fruit. The fruits that come from the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, self control and meekness. (see Galatians 5:22-23). These fruits are the essence of where you will find your happiness.

There is so much power in letting God take control of your life!

God offers Protection:

God protected my mother-in-law while she was driving down the white horse pike last week. A car on the opposite side of the road tried to make a quick turn in front of her; cutting her off ,and hitting her head on! The tremendous wreck also smashed the whole front the car into the front seat, shattering the battery, and totaling the car. Looking at the pictures, there was no way that she got out off that car alive. My explanation was that God allowed an angel to pluck her out of the car while the collision took place. My mother-in-law left the accident with no broken bones and not a scratch on her.

God increases Faith:

This is an example of things not going right, but it also a perfect example of God's faithfulness. There is a lesson in everything. I'm sure it built up my mother in law's faith because it definitely built up mine. This will be an awesome testimony for years to come to help build up other believers belief in the power, protection, and grace that God provides his followers everyday.

God offers Peace:

God is teaching me how not to worry about things. I didn't have a phone at the time of the accident, and I didn't find out until 4 hours later but when I did hear about it, a since of calm came over me. I knew that everything was going to be alright.

What can you do to feel the power of God?

Try committing a scripture to memory once a week.  If not once a week, try once a month. Everyone is at a different step in their walk but reading and memorizing scripture really does help.

Here is a scripture that I am memorizing for the week:

For as much as Jesus has suffered in the flesh, arm yourself likewise with the same mind, for he that suffers in the flesh, ceases from sin that he no longer lives his time for the flesh, to the lust of men; but to the will of God. I Peter 2:1-2

This means that when you live your life for God, you have a different set of priorities. You also have a different perspective on how things work. Being a Christian doesn't mean that everything is going to go your way and that life will be smooth sailing. But it does mean that you have help that will sustain you through all your trials, weaknesses, and dilemmas.

So be happy, because God will give you the power to see the good in everything!

I pray that this was helpful in your journey to find your purpose.
Until next time.
