Freedom Friday: How I'm Crushing it! A Gary V book

I'm reading Crushing it by Gary V

If you are an Entrepreneur-Go buy it now-  Get it, Get it, Get it!

This book is getting me  just as hyped as Tim Ferris's book "4 Hour Work Week."

I no longer feel alone in my ideas and mindset.  If you are not aware of what is going on in my life it is simply this:

I got laid off of my job as an art teacher.  This was a job that I had much passion for until I didn't.  The stress got heavier due to school policies and lack of discipline practices in the school.  Also, the wolfs of charter began to take over the public school buildings in Camden City where I worked.  It was a mess.  I didn't love it anymore.  My mind though was still set on education.  I have a passion for teaching that fuels my ambition to advocate change in the American Public School System.

The thing is, this new ambition came at a price.  Currently, I am not making as much money as I used to.  Therefore,  my house got sold in sheriff sale, my car is about to get repossessed, and I recently had to file for bankruptcy.  Most of my income right now goes to paying lawyer fees and my three kid's marching band expenses.  That's it.  I don't have money to shop for food, clothes, or personal hygiene items.  Like Gary V said "You will have to eat sh*t everyday!"  if you want to do this entrepreneur thing.  My trust is solely in the Lord for all of the things that I need.

I know that I am an entrepreneur because I've been selling things since I was a kid.  I used to write people's names in bubble letters at school.  I would charge a standard $1 fee for a quick drawing that took me 3 minutes to do.  I would charge more money if they wanted me to color it in.    I had another business of doing hair.  I loved braiding hair as a creative outlet.  This was one of the ways that I was able to pay for my senior trip in high school.   $10 dollars a pop for the front of your hair in corn-rows.  Half of the girls on my track team hired me to do their hair for the meets.  No one ever told me that I could scale that into a business.  I didn't know.  No one eve told me that I was an entrepreneur.  I want to let you know that if you do things on the side for a hustle, you may be an entrepreneur.

I still do hair today, but it is not part of the grand plan of the things I want to accomplish in the future.

Let me tell  you how

I'm Crushing It and How you can too!

I'm using my creativity everyday to be who I am.  I want to share my thoughts, ideas, and perspectives with the world.  My family may not understand this, but I know that I will succeed in what every I work hard at.  I'm working hard, but I'm about to kick it up a notch.  I often let the people around me influence the way that I think and act.  I had to let that thinking go.  I had to stop being a people pleaser and start being a doer.  This is how I'm crushing it:

#1 Be a doer

I started this journey about 2 1/2 years ago when I started writing this blog.  I felt a force that kept on nudging me to write a book that I was trying to write for the past 5 years.  I finally sat down and just did it.  It took me 2 years to finish.  However, from that book came a plethora of ideas of the different kinds of books that I can put together with the knowledge that I have for business, spiritual awareness, education, and life.

#2 Be Creative

I want to write.  I want to create.  I want to teach.  Finally, I want to live a fulfilled life on purpose.

There is a problem with this though,  If I want to write, I also need people to read. I am learning that people don't like to read.  Why?  Because life is too busy for people to take the time to read.  So, what I want to do is create a business where I can make short e-books with the subjects that you are interested in.  Then create a way for you to listen to it as you are on the go.  This is the business that I want to scale.  This is the business that I want you to be a part of.  This is how I'm crushing it. . .

#3 Be Patient

I started small, but I want it to grow. . .

The word says do not despise small beginnings.  We have to start somewhere.  What ever your business idea, know that you are providing a service.  Know that you can achieve success if you work hard and keep pushing forward.  Design your business to have a strong foundation so that it can keep growing and growing.  You have to be patient and not motivated by money. This is what I'm getting from this book. You have what it takes inside of you to "Crush it!"

Crushing it is about taking the time to write your vision, then making the small steps towards it. . .

#4 Change your Mind Set

"Crushing it" is actually a sequel to Gary V's  2009 release called "Crush it."  In "Crushing it,"  Gary reiterates very important entrepreneur tactics to scale your business using social media platforms.  He takes you on a mind shift awareness journey so that you can start to think about what you are doing wrong in your business and what you are doing right.  I highly suggest you buy the audio book because he goes off script, keeps you up to date with the changing media, and gets brutally honest with why your not crushing it!

Get your mind right!

#5 Become a Reader

This is why I love this book, it is an awareness book.  You don't know what you don't know until you know it.  These are the type of things that I write about on Fridays . . . Mind shifts!

This is a FREEDOM FRIDAY!

"Crushing It"   by Gary V.

Go grab the book.  Change your mind about scaling your business.  Change your mind about working a 9-5 job and being ridiculously unhappy.  I encourage you to start living your life on purpose.  Love the life you live.  Love God.  Love what you do!

Today, I'm not making a lot of money but I am happy.  I'm about to self publish my book.  I'm getting ready to open my E-book business on my website Artteacher4Purpose.com.  I'm building a following and I just went back to school to get my doctorate in the Philosophy of Psychology in Cognitive Instruction.  The plan is to continue speaking on my passion for creative, and mindful education practices.

I'm Crushing It!

Yeeaaaasssssss!

This is good stuff and I just want to thank you for your comments, your shares, and for all my readers.

Freedom Fridays!!

Hello Friends. . .

It is a freedom Friday where I love to connect you to information about the mind bondage that we all are in.  We want to start to gain the insight to these systems that have been set up by the world kingdom.  These systems are  false systems set up by the adversary.  I encourage you to gain understanding of your enemy.  Even more importantly than that, I implore you to get to know your God, your creator.

How do I promote myself and my business on social media?

It is Freedom Friday

It is a Freedom Friday where I love to connect you to information about the mind bondage that we all are in.  We want to start to gain the insight to these systems that have been set up by the world kingdom.  We as Christians should follow the Heavenly Kingdom.  I follow people who I believe are true believers in the words that Jesus speaks.  Until they prove me otherwise I will listen to their council.  So I am going to share with you two videos that I found about how to promote yourself on social media by Rachel Hollis.

As bloggers, entrepreneurs, and business minded people, we know the importance of the Internet and the Power behind it's influence.  Although it may have been a tool designed to trick the minds of the masses, it can be an awesome resource to spread the truth about the Kingdom of Heaven.

I'm not a very social person. People always ask me why I never pick up my phone . . . because I'm either

#1 Not near my phone and don't feel like answering calls

#2 I am busy and don't feel like answering calls

or

#3 Relaxing and don't want to talk to you.

This is why I am thankful that God sent me friends that don't mind my social awkwardness. We could go months with out speaking but then just pick right back where we left off.  This is how I feel about relationships; they should be long lasting.  Relationships should be cultivated and tested by time.  This is how you truly get to know someone.  So, why do I have to promote myself on social media?

The Answer:  because it is good for business, Kingdom business . . .

I have been asking God lately . . .why am I doing all of this? Why did I enter into this world of social media  propaganda?

I fundamentally feel that this is what Jesus was talking about when he said the end times would be full of a bunch of self loving, self absorbed,  and selfish people.  The end will be full of people that believe a lie rather than the truth.  The people of the world will be tricked by many seducing spirits.

I don't want people to stay asleep on what is really going on in the world!

So many of us stay asleep to what is really going on.  But we have directions to watch and pray:

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. . .

. . .Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.  And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Mark 13:33-37

WAKE UP!!!

His people will be those who spread the word of his coming and provide information about the Kingdom of heaven.  His people will heal infirmities, and do great exploits.  I pray that I don't become a person seeking affirmation from my social media following.   Let me just say that I care about your soul and I am not doing this for a popularity contest.

So the thing is, I am not used to this idea of having to promote myself.  Having to show people in a snap shot who I am.  Maybe I don't want you to know me in a snap!

However,

This is how people think now a days:

Instant with Instagram
In a snap with Snap Chat
All about You with YouTube
Tweet self Talk with Twitter
Pin it quick with Pinterest

This world is an instant gratification mess!

It is all about . . .

Your Likes, Your Pics, Your following!

It is exhausting!!  It is at least for a person like me.  I don't like talking to people that much.  It is easier to stay hidden in the corner, but God called me to something greater, so I will keep going . . .

I have to get out of my box and learn that in these times, promoting myself means promoting the Kingdom.  Everyday, a person, whom ever he or she may be, is promoting himself.  His likes, his dislikes, and his beliefs.  Don't ever compromise on your beliefs.  If you are a follower of Christ, share that with the world.

You are promoting yourself!

You are promoting the Kingdom!

So, this will probably be my last post this week.  If you missed any of my post through out the week go back and check them out.  I have been promoting Rachel Hollis, a Christian Entrepreneur with a lot to offer her community.  Eventually I will be doing a book review of her book, "Girl, Wash Your Face."  I will also do a review of her new book coming out in March call "Girl, Stop Apologizing," available now for preorder.

-until next time

Oh, Shout out to Giulia!  I will check out your site and get back to you.
Everyone, go see what Giulia is talking about, she is a fashion blogger.  Perhaps she can give us fashion advice and teach us how to promote ourselves that way!

Freedom Friday: Who has my money?

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Proverbs 13:22

I just wanted to post this real quick because every Friday I celebrate my separation from the worldly system.  I am not going to lie, it is a very hard thing to do.  Many people don't see what is really going on.  But I pray to God everyday not to let me go back to sleep.

I had a friend send me You Tube video the other day about the fallacy of the prosperity message.  I am not going to show you that video today.  Yeah, there is a big problem with it if you are not interpreting it the right way.  The Holy Spirit has to give you the key.  There are people out there that have the key to prosperity.  There are those out there that have stole the keys to prosperity.  There are those out there that abuse the keys of prosperity.

Everything in this earth, and everything that dwells in this earth belongs to God and that is who I chose to follow all the days of my life.  This is the presence that I desire.  It is the Kingdom that I am a citizen of.  I know where my money is now it is up to me to go get it.

The problem with me saying that is that people will take offense to me talking about money the way that I do.  However, that is just because some people will never have it.  Why?  It is because they have the wrong money mindset.  Some people are really good at making money but they can't keep it.  Others are good at spending money.  While others are good at both making money and building wealth.  It is because they know the keys.  The know the secrets.  Some learn about the secrets while others have natural gifts to see the things others can't see about money.

I always found it interesting when I went to school that Dan Shellhaus always seemed to have a natural inclination for being smart.  It was almost like he didn't put much effort into it.  He always got straight A's because he knew how to study.  He knew how to take a test.  Me on the other hand, I could study study and study some more and never get as good a grade as Dan.  The same thing happened in band.  Dan was a clarinet player like me, but he always had first chair.  It didn't seem like he practiced much more then me, but he always sounded better!

Now, I could get annoyed by his unique talent at being good at everything or I could study him to see how he did it.  What were the  study habits that he formed?  What were the practice habits that allowed him to get 1st chair every year?

I say that to say this:  Don't get made at someone because they are better at something then you.  It is just that they found their niche.  They found what they were good at.  Now it is time for you to find what you are good at.

You see, I understand that God gifted each and everyone of us with special gifts, talents and abilities to do a great work for the Kingdom.  The fact is that we need one another to make progress in the building up of the Kingdom.  If we keep attacking each other, then we will never be unified enough to win.  We will just keep fighting each other.  This does not make sense to me.

Biblically friends, he who hates his brother is without knowledge.  And if you don't have a clear understand of what hate means then you will be even more lost in that statement!  God made everything for a purpose, so each thing that you see is for a purpose.  The problem is that your perspective is distorted by sin.

Here goes the conclusion of this little rant of mine:  Seek ye first the Kingdom of Heaven and all of these things shall be added unto you. . . What does that mean exactly? Well only the Holy Spirit can explain it to you in terms that you can understand.  So, I encourage you to develop a personal relationship with the Lord and understand that we are all members of one body.  Each of us hold an answer, a key, and a clue to understanding this life.  Win souls for Christ and encourage one another.  Not murmuring or complaining.  Your energy can be used for better things then that!

Ok, so back to what I was saying before about money. . . Everybody's purpose is not to be rich, let us be clear on that.  But for those of you who have a natural inclination to be business minded and entrepreneurially tailored, here is the video for you.  Change your money mindset and be free from the bondage that this world wants to keep you in.

After watching this video I had a brain shift . . . I no longer am thinking about how I am going to make money . . . I'm thinking instead "Who has my money?"

I have a goal to set up an inheritance for my children, not in monetary prosperity, but in a freedom mindset.  This is what it is about: You are free!
Yes, it has cursing in it so . . . may not be for those who are easily offended.  Love you though!

Freedom Fridays: Michael Jr.

Love it!!!  I just like making up things and Freedom Fridays sound like a good title so I'm going to go with it . . .

For those of you who don't know me, my name is Tamorra and I am the artteacher4purpose.  I write, create and promote information that will help you find your purpose in life.  I am having so much fun with this call that God had given me to help others find their purpose in life. . .

I once was lost in a world that wanted to use me and use me up.  I am so happy that God made a way for me to wake up and see that there was no winner in the race that I was running.  I thought that I was doing everything that I was supposed to be doing by going to school, getting a good job, and working to buy things that I didn't really need.  I was exhausted chasing a false vision of purpose. What I really needed was  a relationship with Jesus.

What I really needed was a relationship with Jesus Christ!

And so today I can truly say that I am free!!

I am free from trying to obtain some kind of success in this world, instead I know that God has better plans for me:

This is what I celebrate on Fridays, my freedom from the bondage of this world. I am now trusting God for everything!

Now, because I feel so good about having a forum to share with you I want to refer you to some people who get it.  These are people who speak around the world, sharing their story about how God has changed their life for better.  Today they speak about living life on purpose and answering the call that God has on your life.  There is a life that we should be living.  That life is about spreading the good news about Jesus Christ and understanding our true purpose to live an eternal life.

I present to you a comedian that has found his true calling and also calls you to use your talents to help spread the message of Jesus Christ.

What is that message exactly:

There is freedom in Jesus.  There is a promise for eternal life once you change your mind about how you live this life and realize that you are a spirit that is living in a country that is not your own.  We are supposed to help each other wake up so that we can all realize our freedom in Christ.  This is not an easy task because so many have been hurt, misused, and exhausted by the life they are currently living.  Many of us have been confused about the message because the church, the a spiritual leader, or the people teaching us didn't know how to deliver it.  Most of us don't realize that we are in bondage and that we need a savior to free us from the shackles of this life!

Check out Michael Jr. and share this video with somebody.  It is really good!

God bless you and keep you always.

Let me thank you so very much for reading this blog and for sharing with others.  Help me spread the message about Living this Life on Purpose.

Until next Time
