Jesus Calling: Finding Peace in God's Presence.

This is a Motivation Monday,

God just placed this on my heart right now:

You don't experience God through Religion, or through religious practice.  You get to know God by spending time with him.  Day by day.  You get to know him by walking with him, talking with him.  There are people who truly have a relationship with God because they did not get caught in a fake religious practice.  They may have been born Muslim, or Jewish, or Hindu, or Christian, or Jehovah Witness, but they did not get their mind trapped into limited perspectives of who God really is.  God is everywhere.  He is everything.  He presents himself as a loving father because that is how he wants us to get to know him.  Our God had a son.  He loved us so much that he sacrificed his only begotten son so that he could adopt us.

Jesus is alive and he is calling us!

I was in the book store the other day and I came across a book that has repeatedly stepped into my life.  It strides a little, with a matter of fact "You Need Me" stroll.  I'm sure that I could benefit from it's wisdom, but I just haven't found the money to buy it.

We all make these types of excuses:

I don't have the time

I don't have the money

I don't have the resources

This is our reasoning mind that does this to us.  We often reason out of the fear that something will happen that is not in our control.  We freeze and back away from the things that scare us.  If we were to act more instinctively, we would gravitate to the things that will help us grow.  We would stop relying on our own logic, and we would trust God.  Stop thinking everything through!  Our logic is faulty and we do not think like God.  The mainstream of people do not think like God. I heard this quote somewhere:  "Do not follow the mainstream, people get lost in there!"  But, I digress because this is not the point of this blog post so let me move on.

The point is, to stop making excuses.  We need to take a more active role in moving towards things that will help us grow.  The most important investment that you can make in your self is the growth and development of your mind. Hence, I am going to go out and buy this book today.

It is called "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young.  It is a 365 day devotional that she was inspired to write while listening to the voice of God.  She writes down an interpretation of scripture that I know God has specifically designed her for.  This is what God does, he speaks through his people.  He inspires them to communicate to the world in a special and unique way.  His voice can be heard through art, music, writing, living, preaching, or teaching.  I experience God's voice through confirmation, patterns, perspectives, and through other people. What ever gift God has given you, he wants you to use it!

This is your motivation for Monday
The Lord has designed you so that he can speak through you.
He wants his true self to be communicated pure and true.
You are special!

Sarah writes as if God is responding to her questions:

"Expect to Encounter Adversity in your life in remembering that you live in a deeply fallen world.  Stop trying to find a way that circumvents difficulties.  The main problem with an easy life is it masks your need for Me. When you become a Christian, I infuse my very life into you, empowering you to live on a supernatural plane by depending on Me."

She goes on to say on this date that we have to let go and let God.  His strength and glory is shown in our weakness.  We have to learn how to stop depending on ourselves and start depending on him.

I really like the devotional style and set up in this book.  It gives the date at the top of the page then it gives you a modernized and conceptualized word from God. I don't constitute this as rewriting the bible, but instead recognize it as necessary teaching of concepts. The format of the book gives you the scriptures in the bible to look up as a reference.  This is a good way to connect and witness to the world.  This style brings about a different energy than preaching at someone.  It is a devotional that walks the journey with you.  It brings about peace in you heart as you experience his words in your current language.  You will be able to relate to the words.

On this particular page it gives you two scriptures:

Rev. 19:1

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God

Psalm 91:1-2

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

So, like I said, I was in the book store and I sat down to skim through this book.  I am convinced this is another gift that God has given us to get closer to him.  So I suggest that you go buy it as well.  Invest in your growth.  Let me know what you think about it especially if you read it before.  I will take a year, do the devotional, and get back to you with a full report.

I will add this post to the

The world tries to distort the image of God.  We are at a time where God will pour out his spirit more and more, so that his true people can stand up for him and tell the world about how loving, true and just he really is.  He is calling out a people to himself.  You my friend are one of those people.

Do not put God in a box.  Instead, allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your spirit.  Be willing to deny yourself; the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that have been conditioned in you since you were born.  Let that go and be born again into new life.

Jesus is Calling!

I write and promote this type of information all of time.  I am in the process of recording my book on you tube now, so check it out:
