It has been over a year since I blogged on this page.  I don't know what will come of it, I just know that I am feeling a little down.  I see and understand so many things as I cross the threshold of forty.  I see that at my age, wisdom finally set in, however, no one has time to listen.  We all move so fast in this fast-paced life and become jealous of those who move slow.  We call them lazy and unmotivated.  However, friends, they are the ones who have taken the time to savor every moment of this gift we call life.  A meal is not enjoyed when it is too much, when it is scarfed down at lighting speed, or when it is over-spiced with flavor.  Let's slow down. Let's enjoy every bite of the dish we call life.

Throwback Thrusday: 7 things to do to Find Peace

The Lord is telling me:  You are NOT self sufficient.  You need Me!!!

I'm writing my feelings out on this throwback Thursday.  I haven't been very disciplined in writing on Thursdays.  I'm learning.  I'm allowing God to teach me his ways.  I didn't know that it would be this long to learn discipline.

The flood has over taken my thoughts.  It has overtaken my ability to think straight.  I'm not to quit sure that there is something going wrong.  I'm not too quit sure if something is going right.

I am definitely learning how to identify my feelings.  I am learning that they should not be ignored, but they should be identified, characterized, and handled with care.

I am looking for the answer to my question:  What will make me feel better?

I don't want to make the same decisions that cause me to turn on the wrong paths.  I want the Lord to lead me beside still waters and to restore my soul.  Oh Lord lead me in the pathways of righteousness for your name sake.  And although I walk in the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil because you are with me.  Your strength, your wisdom, and your love brings me peace and guidance.  Thank you Father.

I find myself at home praying, thinking, and enjoying the presence of God but I'm also very heavy in my spirit.  I'm asking God to forgive me for my short comings.  Forgive me for my flesh and sinful nature.  Forgive me for sending hate that I mean not to give.  These are the times that I cry out to God . . .

Lord Help Me!!!

If I have ever gave the impression to anyone that I am more blessed, better than, or smarter than, forgive me.  Forgive me for the things I do wrong and for the blessings I miss because of my sinful nature.  Forgive me my debts, and the Lord will forgive yours.  We fall short every day.  This is why we need Jesus.  This is why we need the Holy Spirit.  With out the help of the spirit we will be completely lost.  This is what he is telling me to do right now:

Pray

slow down

Be still

Open up your heart

Read my word

Get Quiet

Listen to my voice

I will give you peace

I am asking the Lord today to bless my soul.  I have a decision to make and it seems like with every decision I make, my life get's worse.  I want to know what is going on!

However, in everything I give thanks.  I love the Lord, and this feeling may not be bad.  Because I trust the Lord, this may not be a misdirection.  I just pray to the Lord to stay with me.  Tell me what to do next.  I open up my heart and my mind to his answers. Here is a throw back video:  Yolanda Adams, I open up my heart. . .

If you are waiting for an answer from the Lord, open up your heart and let him speak to you.  God bless you until next time.

Draw Close to the Father- this is for you

If you know this blog, then you know I talk a lot about process and growth.

You are in your process of growth.

Right now, even as you read the words on these pages.

I am understanding that not everyone understands this and he/she may start to read something like this blog then think that it doesn't pertain to him.   He may feel inclined to move on.  He may turn the page, skip the site or scroll to the next picture.

However, this is for you!!

Imagine all the things and opportunities that you have missed because in the matter of second you have convinced yourself that it wasn't for you.  And why?

Why can't the good things be for you?

Why can't the deep things be for you?

Why can't the spiritual things be for you?

This is definitely for you, so keep reading . . .

Most of the time when we come to things in our lives that seem uncomfortable, we run away from it.  We think to ourselves, "no, it is not supposed to be that hard." or " No, I don't want to hear that because it makes me feel uncomfortable."  The truth is the things that make us feel uncomfortable grow us the most. . .

This is perhaps why there is so much divorce and the number of divorces is increasing. . . too many people are only concerned with the way that they feel; they never consider the way the other person may feel. And so, when one feels uncomfortable in the relationship, there is an automatic pull for him to find a space where he/she does feel comfortable.  Many of us feel comfortable in the comfort zone.  Everyone's zone is different.  Everyone's zone is false reality but everyone's comfort zone fulfills a fundamental need;  The need to feel secure.  We always run to a false sense of security. . .

But,

I didn't start this conversation to talk about divorce,  I instead wanted to talk about waiting on the Lord and understanding that we need to go through hard things in order to grow.

Also, it is worth the time to read this whole post because it is for you.  You were sent here for a reason so don't stop reading because you think that it isn't for you.  It is for you.  This is why you are here. . .

LOL, just like you are here on this earth, living the life that you are living.  This life is for you, no matter how sucky you may feel in it.  This life is for you to live it and grow in it.

There is a reason for everything.  There is a time for everything.  There is a reason why you had to have the experiences that you had in your life, to get to the very point where you can understand the things that I write.

This Journey will take Humility

Humility allows you to hear the voice of God.  It allows you to interpret his Language and to hear his call.  It allows you to recognize his correction and to identify the paths that he needs you to walk.  Humility is knowing that you do not know the right way, but there is someone who does.  This is who you follow, the one who can show you the right way to go.

Do you have a relationship with the Lord?

If you didn't know already, this is the Holy Spirit calling you to a better life.  This life was meant for you.  What I am typing now is meant for you, yes you.  You are special.  You are uniquely made to grow into the full potential of who you are.  You have everything that you need inside of you, to become magnificent.  You have everything inside of you, programmed inside of you to be great.  You are a seed.  The seed always has the program inside of it, now all that it needs is the right environment and the right kind of care.

It is time for you to let the gardener plant you in the soil, water you, give you light and nurture you.

I have a relationship with the Lord.  I talk to him.  The more I walk with him, the more I know that other people walk with him too.  We see things differently than how the world sees them.  We notice things, we hear things.  It is an amazing life to live.  You can have a relationship as well, this is why you are here reading this.  This is your confirmation that you can talk with the Holy Spirit.

My relationship is my relationship and your relationship with the Lord is your relationship with the Lord.  Start your relationship today.

But what if I am not sure?

I used to get jealous of other people's relationship with the Lord.  Sometimes I felt like there relationship was more intimate, more special, or even stronger,  However, I am learning that everyone's relationship is only as close and connected as that person is comfortable with.  People often back away from something new or different if they are afraid of what comes next.  Also, people tend to run into comfort zones when the relationship that they get in did not meet their expectations.  This is what we do.  We run away from what makes us feel uncomfortable.

God does want a commitment from you.  He is not going to share everything with you at first.  However, as you draw close to him, he will draw close to you.  He made you, he knows you, and he desires a relationship with you.

Don't be afraid of what comes next.

Don't envy what someone else has with the Lord.

What God has for you is for you.

His love is for you.

Motivation for Monday: Don't Overcrowd Your Space

I don't believe in overcrowding.

Overcrowding for no reason is hoarding.

It is just not a healthy thing to do or a healthy way to live.

I started to think on this idea about having too much because I have too much stuff.  I have too much in my house.  I have too much on my to-do list.  I have too much stuff on this blog!  The Lord started speaking to me about getting rid of stuff.  He told me to think about the purpose of the things that I have. If it doesn't have a purpose, then get rid of it, or find a purpose for it.

Basically, if it has a purpose, keep it.  If you are already using it for a purpose, awesome, use it more effectively and more often.  Often times we hold on to gadgets, clothes, things, and stuff just to say that we have it.  However, if these things are not used for a purpose it is just taking up space.

I started to apply this idea to my work.  The work that I do now is writing work, marketing type work.  I am trying to spread the good word of the my father in heaven.  I want to be a good worker, so I try hard, but probably not as efficiently as I could.  I probably need some more training on how to manage my time, my energy, and my resources to spread this message a little further.

I realized that not everything that I am doing to spread this message is profitable or purposeful.  I mean, of course, I started out for a particular purpose, but it just isn't working out the way that I want it.  Therefore I need another game plan.  I need to hone in and focus on what is working, then get rid of everything else.

Have you ever noticed that when you have too much stuff it is hard to stay organized?  It is so hard to keep things clean when you are overwhelmed with the dirty!  Well, this is how our lives are.  We often have too much stuff to do, too many people to see, and too many bills to pay.  We become overwhelmed by the too much!

It is time to clear out your mind.  It is time to clear out your space.  It is time to clear out your life.  Keep what is purposeful and needed.  Throw away all the things that you don't need.  This goes as far as saying:

Get rid of the activities that just drain you- you don't need them
Get rid of the bills that you can't pay- stop creating them
Throw away the old papers the old clothes and the old appliances- b/c you don't use them
Stop talking to the people who drain your energy and waste your valuable time- you don't need them
Throw away those old habits of procrastination and slothfulness- they don't help you
Throw away patterns of over eating and retail therapy- they don't heal you
Get rid of tasks that make you busy but not productive- they don't help you grow
So on and so forth. . .

When you get rid of the things that are not for a purpose, you can take steps in a more positive direction.

I am cleaning out this business life.  I need to first identify those things that are not beneficial to me.  For example, I know this blog is beneficial for three reasons right now:

#1  This is therapy for me to get my feelings out so that they are not all bottled up inside of me.  I suggest that everyone do some type of writing/journaling/ art making or something to help release their thoughts in a tangible way.

#2 I have a running record of my thoughts while I building my business.

#3 people are reading and it seems like it is helping people.

So, these are good things, but I have to evaluate if these things are the most efficient way for me to have my therapy, my record, and my service.  Is this blog creating more of a service or more of a hassle?

I am evaluating my life the same way and I am asking myself:  Are these people beneficial to the building of the Kingdom, or are they a hindrance?  Are these activities creating energy in my life or are they taking energy away.  Are my habits creating positive change in my life or are they a hindrance to my growth?

I am always evaluating and I have come to this conclusion:

keep the good
grow the potential
cut the baggage

Of course, not everything that we see as good is good, and not everything that we see as baggage is baggage.  This is truly something that you an I must consult the Lord in.  This is why I pray on the regular.

So, I will be looking at this blog a different way.  I think I will continue with the Live Life Project but gear it more towards resources for those who are depressed and can't find help.  The Live Life Project was the main reason why I started Motivation for Mondays, because I wanted to help people, but instead of that google + group growing people are leaving.  I noticed that there was just too much stuff on it that was not useful or helpful.  It was too hard to navigate through all the clutter posts.  Motivation doesn't last forever.  Some people really need help to navigate through this life.  I think there is potential in this group so I am going to keep it going.

I see potential in a lot of things.  I see potential in this blog.  I just have to reevaluate it's purpose.  I will be doing that this next month.

I see potential in my vision, so I am going to keep writing, no doubt.  I just need to figure out how I am going to grow more. . .

Here is your Motivation for Monday:

Keep growing, this is what you were made to do. . .

Your purpose is to grow.  You must get rid of the things in your life that are hindering you from growing.  Make that change.  Take the next steps to living your life on Purpose.  I mean really evaluate where you are and where you need to go.  Don't stay in a place that is heavy for you, a place that is draining you.  Don't stay in a place that is too busy and over crowded with a bunch of junk.  We have to stop putting up with it.  We have to stop feeding our energy to things that do not have a purpose.

So, my solution to my overcrowding is to cut some things lose.  I don't know what they all are yet, but I am starting today.

I'm going to make a list of 10 things I am getting rid off.

I'll keep you posted.

until next time

Your Testimony is your Protection: Saturday Notes

We over come Satan

when we testify personally

to what the word of God says

the blood of Jesus does

for us

I haven't heard of Dereck Prince until my "friend" Tifphani MontGomery said this is who she listened to.  I always felt that her subject matter line up with principles taught by Dr. Myles Munroe.  I am totally convinced that this is the Holy Spirit spreading this message to his people.  Let us get ready and prepare our minds for the Kingdom.  It is coming.  It is here.  Our king is waging war and he is teaching his people the ways of the Lord (the law).  It will be fulfilled.

I enjoyed hearing Dereck prince talk about the blood of Jesus. These are some things that I took from the video.

#1  Your testimony is so very important.  It is necessary for you to share your journey, to share your trials, and to share how Jesus delivered you from these things.  It is our job as God's people to tell about the goodness of the Lord.

#2 The blood of Jesus is protection for us.  We cannot expect protection if we do not follow the word of God.

"The blood is not sprinkle on the disobedient."

#3  Your words are powerful. Make the words out of your mouth agree with the word of God.

"By your words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned"

#4 Protect your mind, your will, and your emotions.  This is what makes up your heart. Protect your heart at all cost. Keep it clean.  Keep it sober.  This is our part, this is our job.

"Guard your heart with all your strength because everything that is in your heart comes out of it."

Throwback Thursday: Live a Peaceful Life

My name is Tamorra and I am the art teacher for purpose.  I write, create, and promote information that will help you find your purpose in life.  I want to encourage you to live your life on purpose by using your gifts, your talents, and your abilities to help expand the Kingdom purpose.  Let us help each other by loving each other.  Let us love as Jesus loves.  Let us help spread his message of everlasting life.

Follow peace with all men . . .

There are many among us who sleep.  This is ok for now because if God has not called them yet, then they are exactly where they are supposed to be.  Do not worry about this, be at peace.  They are what you will call "the dead in Christ."  This saying does that mean that they are actually dead, it just means that they are not awake.  They have accepted Jesus Christ as their savior and desire to live for him; but have not fully awakened to their purpose.  At this time of the end, they shall go up to be with the Lord first.  The rest of us will remain and preach the Kingdom message.

I can't tell you if the children of today are the generation to see all prophecy come to manifestation.  I can tell you that the end is near.  The Lord is coming soon.  He will be coming, he will bring down his Kingdom from heaven, and he will judge the world for its unrighteousness.

Our direction is to be at peace, mind our own business, and work with our hands.  We are to walk in the truth and walk towards unbelievers, patiently and in happiness.  We are to meditate on the word of God, day and night, not worrying about any of this craziness that is going on in the world.  We are to pray and seek God for everything. We are to stay calm and trust God.

Keep your peace

Keep Calm

Keep your Confidence

Trust God

This is Throwback Thursday, so I just want to share with you some important post about the end times, about living calm and about the coming of the Lord.  Check them out at your convenience.

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 10And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; 11And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

The Return of the Lord

13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Wisdom Wednesday: God's meditation brings Peace

Hello Friends,

If I could offer you any type of wisdom that will lead your soul to peace, I would simply advise you to meditate on the word of the Lord. . .

The Lord makes a way for me everyday to think on his word.  I am not describing a worldly definition of meditation.  We are not emptying the mind, but instead filling it with truthful thoughts.  The type of thoughts that we were meant to have are in the word of God.  We must start to influence the mind with the culture that our Lord and savior wants us to have.  We must renew our minds with right thinking.

What am I trying to say?

I am saying that our culture has a huge impact in the way we view the world.  Our culture seems to try to push the agenda of panic, revolution, and war.  It is almost like a program quietly being sent to our subconscious minds.  However, the Lord is sending us a different message.  He is sending us a message of peace, love, and forgiveness.  He is sending us a message of calm.  He wants us to stand on the word of truth and to stand still in his protection.  He will protect our spirits from all hurt, harm, and danger.  I believe this and I stand by this teaching.  Why?  Because I read the word of God and I know this is what he wants for us.

Let us be joyful friends.  Let us celebrate the victory of our Lord.  The Lord strong and mighty.  Our Lord mighty in battle. Let us trust that he has this whole thing under control.  Find your peace by believing his word.

I often hear the following verse recited in church service:

Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known unto God.  And the peace of God that passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7

I looked up this verse in the New living translation so that I could put it to language that my mind could remember and think clearly on. The following are the verses I was meditating on today:

Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again—rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate in all you do. Remember, the Lord is coming soon. Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:4-7

I am at peace and I pray you are to.
Meditate on his word night and day
and it will bring you good success.

Keep living on Purpose
Until Next Time
Tamorra

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.
Philippians 4:8-9 NLT

Teacher Tuesday: The Good Teacher

In my last years of teaching in the public school, I had often heard my students whine and complain; “I can’t do it. . .  it’s too hard . . . can you do it for me?”
No, I can’t do it for you!  If I do the work for you then that is making you weak.  Listen up,  if you are depending on your pastor to do all the work for you, to bring the word week after week, and you chose not to study yourself, you will repeat the year, you will be left back, and there will be no growth in you.   You must study yourself, you must have the desire to study.  Read your bible and spend time with God.

What kind of teacher would the Lord be if he did all the work for you?  He knows that he has to require you to study the word.  Study and learn who you are and who you were made to be.

This is something that I wrote not too long ago about being a good teacher . .

“Who wants a teacher who is just going to give you a cheat sheet to the test? That’s a lazy teacher. That’s a teacher who doesn’t care. But a teacher who carefully plans the distribution of information so that a student may discover at his level, to obtain wisdom and understanding through application and creativity; well, that is the teacher that I yearn to become.”

The Lord wants to be your teacher and he wants to guide you through every trial.  He wants to be there for you.  He doesn't want to see you suffer.  You just have to put your faith in him.  Put your faith in the truth of his word.

I want to share with you a video that I had come across.  It is a young woman giving her testimony.  I think it was awesome that she shared her journey with us.  I also like how she mentioned at the end of her video that we all have purpose.  And if we do not step into our purpose then we are good for nothing and we will die good for nothing.  People do go to hell.  This is the thing everyone . . . people go to hell.  The word of God is for real and Jesus is for real.

I pray that this video gives you hope for a future:

Live for Jesus
Live your Journey
Live life on Purpose
and remember that there is purpose in the process
Until Next Time

Throwback Thursday: Good Friends

As the end of the day draws near, I like to take the time to reflect and be thankful.  I just finished praying for my friends.  My good friends.  I just started to thank God for sending them to me.  I thanked God for their strength and their words of encouragement.

God knows what he is doing when he sends you good friends.  I just want to send out a special thanks to Sha'Ron, and Tene.  Wish you ladies the best and I thank you for being a friend.

Here's the throwback, one of my favorite theme songs. . .  I used to watch this show right before "Designing Women."  Did you guess it?  That's right!  "Golden Girls!"

Sha'Ron and Tene, you are my golden friends. . .

Throwback Thursday: Do you know that you are batman?

This is for those who have decided to follow your purpose in life . . .

You will always have someone behind you questioning you in how you do things . . .

"I don't know. . . I don't like it . . .Is that going to work out. . . are you sure?"

But if you're going to be batman, you need to know that you are batman.  You need to know who you are so that if any doubt that comes your way, you just brush it off because you know who you are.  If you are going to be batman, you need to train and practice your batman moves.  Don't let anyone discourage you with their critical words.

This is what happened . . .

I went to a birthday party to do face paint the other day.  I love doing face paint because it is fun.  I like it when the kids are happy.  They see the design on their face and their like "Yes, that's so cool!!"

It makes me happy that they like the end result.  I don't let them see it until I'm all finished though.  I don't want them to get discouraged by what they see in the process, but instead get excited about what they see at the end. I try to go as fast as I can so that they don't have to sit that long . . 5 to 7 minutes at the most. . . the younger they are, the faster I go.

But everyonce in awhile I get a request from an older kid that challenges me. I love this.  The only thing is, I know that it is going to take me a little longer and I know that I don't have an exact plan of attack.  But I'm an artist.  I know that I can get there or somewhere around the intended vision.

So this is what happened, there was an adult at the party that was so excited about there being a face painter.  From the very beginng he was like, "Yes I'm doing that!"

He wanted the Mike Tyson face tattoo. . . the thing though, it was a kid party so I really wanted to do all the kids first.  When it got towards the end there was an older kid that wanted the Jordan sign on his face.  I told him that I would attempt it, sit down in the chair.

The whole time this Guy (the one that wanted the Tyson Tattoo), stood behind me, looking over my shoulder making comments. . .

"Awe man I don't know"

"Oh wow, do you want that on your face?  I don't think that was a good place for it."

"It doesn't look too good."

I kept going anyway, ignoring his comments because I knew he did not understand my process. I did a light stick like figure first to get the positioning and the angles.  Then I went back with a paint stick to make the figure darker.  Then I took my fine brush to give it some shape and defined lines.  The critic thought I wasn't doing a good job, so he left.

Me being an artist, was self critical of my work.   This is ok, I always look to see how I can do things better. I didn't like it the sign.  There were too many black marks around the figure.  So I took some color, made the figure pop out and added some white highlights and then I liked it . . . the kid liked it and thought it was hot.  So he asked for the Labron James sign on his fore head . . .

The point:  You will always have critics attacking your process.  You will always have someone looking over your shoulder not understanding how you are going to get from one point to the other.  But you must understand, they cannot do what you can do and that is why they are watching you so closely.  They can't see things the same way you see things.  They don't have your vision nor do they understand the planning or the time it takes to train to do what you do.

So do what you do and be the best at what you do.  Don't worry about your critics.  They will just get tired and leave anyway.

All in all, it was fun.  I like doing face painting. The situation didn't really bother me that much, it was quite funny because I wanted to do the Mike Tyson tattoo.  I had better paint and finer brushes to use for it and it would have looked really good!

But anyway, this situation also reminded me of all of us and how we treat other people that we do not quite understand.  We all need to change our minds about how we talk to people and treat people.  We need to be sensitive to their process as the art work, and as the artist.

God is the master artist, painting us into his vision for who he needs us to be.  He has also made us individual artist to help paint each other into who we need to be.  Your words are very powerful and can create beautiful artworks, or distorted messes.  Be careful what you say to people, because not everyone knows if they are indeed batman.

Pray this prayer:

Lord forgive me I made a mistake.  I should not have talked about __________. What you have called him/her to do is what you told him to do.  Please help me not to be critical of others.  Help me not to gossip.  Help me not to complain.  I know that these are all distractions.  Instead, set my heart to do your will.  Keep me awake and away from the temptations and distractions of the enemy. Amen

The Fourty Day: Live Life Project Devotional

I wanted to share with you guys something that is really helping me . . .  Join me in a forty day journey to finding purpose. . . .

I am a fan of the book, but I am also a fan of this journal . . . I would suggest you go buy it or just write your reflections in a notebook.  For copy right reasons, I can't copy the prompts in the journal, but I can give you my thoughts and elaborate on the scriptures for you.  So, I decided that I am going to write a Devotional!

I love spending time with the Lord. Often times life gets busy and we loose focus of what is really important. Living a surrendered life to the instructions of the Holy Spirit will guarantee that we are doing the will of our father.  We can't afford taking chances on this anymore.  I encourage you to start your relationship with God today.

As we get older we realize that planning is a good tool to use if we want to stay committed to anything.  Hence, I am planning to created a 40 day devotional for this project.  However, I only have a week! This means that I am going to set up 5 devotional blog posts for the next 8 days!  I will save them under a page called devotionals to where you can take your time over the next 40 days reading and reflecting.

This will definitely be a challenge for me, but it will be a good review.  This will not be exactly like the journal by Rick Warren, so if you want to go buy that you can.  I had my own notebook with my own thoughts about what it means to live a Purpose Driven Life in this day in time.  So i encourage you to follow along today and start building your relationship with the Lord.  You may even like to start your own devotional . . . Get close and personal with God!

Take it Day by Day.  Love you with the Love of the Lord.  God Bless you.

I will add the link here once the project is complete

Before we start the devotional you should know the five main purposes that Rick Warren highlighted in the Journal:

1) You are here for God's Pleasure

2) You were formed for God's Family

3) You were created to become like Christ

4) You were made to serve God

5) You were made for a mission

These are very important things to think about before we start our devotional journey.

Pray for me because I just made this commitment to God, to you, and to myself so it is my intention to do all that I say!

Until Next Time

Throwback Thursday: Be a Doer

My Brain is constantly moving, digesting, and computing from lessons of the past.  I am always trying to review, understand, and apply the lessons that the Lord has presented me.  I can't always keep up but I try really hard.

One way that I try to keep up is to review something that he has already taught me: hence the Throwback Thursday idea.  I'm just sharing with you what he has taught me and in case you have forgotten, I'm bringing it up again!

I remember when God was teaching me about taking action.  This Life is not about sitting back and letting others do the work.  This life is not about hoping and waiting for the God to fix everything . . . Instead we were placed here for a reason.  We are meant to learn and grow from this life so that we can enter into the next.  If we are not prepared then we will not enjoy the wedding feast.  Better yet, some of us are expecting to be the bride, all dressed in white, but most of us will only be guests, while others will be locked out, and others even asked to leave.

I encourage you saints of God to live obedient to the word of God.  Answer the call that God has placed on you life.  Be a doer and not a hearer only.  Get busy for God, and not busy for this world.  The following is an excerpt from an article I wrote last May:

This is confusing to explain.  Yes, we caste the burden on the Lord, but no we do not sit back and let things just happen.  We have to take an active role in our responsibilities to the Lord:

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves." James 1:22

So, it is important to find out what it means to be a doer of the word.  Being a doer of the word means to go through the whole process.  We can't just stop at the receiving our salvation.  That would be like going to Pre-school then saying 'I'm done!  We must lead a changed life, by hearing the Holy spirit and follow the directions given to us by the Holy Spirit.  You can not hear the voice of the Holy Spirit if you do not know the language.  You only learn the language by spending time in the word.  Studying, reading, praying, and communicating with the Lord teaches you the language.  You follow God the father, son, and Holy Spirit (all are one in different forms), through your faith that you have, that this is really happening.  Trials come to build your faith up.  Believing, even after the storm, that yes this is happening!
I think this was my confusion when I was younger.  I thought I could live my life, and try my best to be a good Christian, by not drinking, cursing, or doing drugs.  I thought that I was a good Christian because I went to church, taught Sunday School, and participated in Church activities.  I thought I was doing what I was supposed to be doing.  I prayed, I read my bible, and I did my best. . .

However Friends

I have learned that drawing closer to the Lord requires more commitment, more time, and more growth on my part.  I am no longer a sit back, go with the flow type Christian. I write this blog because God called me to do it.  I have some more things on the list to do but at least I know that I am willing and that I have started.  I am doing this because God needs me to.  He is also preparing me for more.  I do this work for the Lord, I do it with the confidence that it provides a service to you.

I used to asked my mother why it always seemed like I would get excited for Christ but then that excitement would die down.  She simply explained to me that it was all apart of my spiritual growth.  Your spiritual growth takes conditioning.  God has to train us in order to run these long distance races.  We have to learn how not to be tired out by worldly affairs, but instead dedicate our lives to the work of the Lord.  When we seek after the Lord and his Kingdom we will receive our reward.  When we serve the Lord with our whole self we will receive the reward of the inheritance.

Only family will receive the invite to the wedding.  How many times have you been called?  Answer your call.  Answer your invitation.

Throwback Tuesday: Listen to the Holy Spirit

Hello all, as you well know I am a writer who writes, creates, and promotes information about finding your purpose.  The overall will of God is to help us find our way to the Kingdom so that he can show us all that he has in store for us.  The quickest way to get to the Kingdom is by being obedient!

I just wanted to share this old post with you as I am continuing my journey to grow in faith.  I am realizing that situations come into our lives that make it easy to give up on our dreams.  Things happen that make us want to throw in the towel.  I am understanding that this is a device of the enemy because when God tells you to do something you have to keep pressing on.  You must be obedient to the will of God.  The more we grow in our relationship with the Lord, and the more we read the scriptures; the more we will recognize the voice of God.

My friends we are talking about hearing from the Holy Spirit.  Letting that spirit minister to our hearts, our minds, our souls, and our spirits.

And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Ephesians 4:30

The following is a post from May 2017

Sunday's Message:

What did the Preacher Preach About?

Another week has started.  Now it is time for me to tell you what the preacher preached about. . .

If Christians who attended different churches were to talk to each other,  I'm sure they would find out that their Pastors spoke very similar messages.  Why is this?  It is because that is how the spirit works.  The Holy Spirit pours into teachers so that they could speak the message that God wants his people to hear. . .

My Pastor spoke on grieving the Holy Spirit.  In other words: rejecting the direction of the Holy Spirit and just not listening.  This is something that we shouldn't do.  He posed this question:

"What happens to the Christian when he becomes complacent and will not listen to the Holy Spirit?"

We are all called to do a work for God.  But many of us just take a seat back once we know that we are saved by the blood of Jesus.  But is that fair to God?  Is that fair to Jesus when we know we were called with a holy calling?  We shouldn't be taking a seat back nor should we be taking the back seat!  We are responsible for the decisions we make in this life and we are the reason why we are where we are.

You are responsible for you.  God gave us free will so that we can choose to give our life to the instruction of the power of the word.  Often times we chose not to listen to the Holy Spirit.  This is why we have trouble in our lives  We should allow the direction of the Holy Spirit to drive us to our purpose.  HOWEVER, we still have to hold on to the wheel!  We have a responsibility to steer, always listening to the voice of God.

Why weren't we taught this in the past?

We are taught this. There are a lot of things that we are taught over and over.  Somethings we chose to forget subconsciously because we only want to do what we want to do.  In this sense, we have a selective learning experience!  But the right thing is to know that we have to acknowledge God for everything that he gives us.  We learn step by step and precept upon precept.

We take God for granted and we don't praise him for the many blessings that we do have.  We must not think that we can do it by ourselves.  We must listen and be obedient to the Holy Spirit.  Be obedient to the word of God and take action to the direction given.

This is how good God is . . . he wants his people to understand this message and that is why I know that more than one pastor was preaching this very message this morning!

The preacher made some very good points coming from Ephesians 4:17-32

#1  We should not walk in the vanity of our own minds.

We are not all that by ourselves.  We don't have the wisdom of God nor the understanding.  We cannot even fulfill our destiny until we totally surrender our "self" to God.  Hence, we should not fool ourselves into thinking that we know more than what we do know.  The whole condition of our salvation was to understand and admit that we cannot save ourselves.  We need a savior.  So, why do we keep forgetting this important fact?

We are not following Jesus like we said we would.  Jesus even asks us: Why do you call me Lord if you do not what I say?

#2  We should have a new life in Christ.

When we accept Jesus in our lives.  We are accepting a new life and a new way of life.  We have to remember this and then examine ourselves:  "Am I living my life to the will of the father, or am I doing what I want to do?"

#3  Romans 8:5-17  If you are in the flesh you cannot please God.

A new life in Christ means a life not lived to the lust of men.  Instead we ought to be living to the will of God.  When we live to the will of God, then God can use us to complete his plan.  When God's plan is completed we will find what our spirit craves: Security, Safety,Wisdom, Understanding, Fulfillment, Love, Joy, Peace, etc. . .  But without God and with out knowing the way to these rewards; we would fail because we miss the target.  Any way you travel without God (him, his word, and spirit) will miss the target goal.

I want to encourage you to surrender to the voice of the Holy Spirit.  Walk in the Spirit!  It will always direct you correctly.  Then your life will start to exude a life of blessings.  Remember to be thankful and praise the Lord our God.  For his mercy allows us to try again each and everyday.  Thank you God!
