We are the Prodigals: Manage Your Money!!

Hello all, wanted to share another excerpt from my book:  Transitions Into Life . . .

These are just notes really and may or may not be displayed in the book like this.

I really am observing our behavior in this world.  Why we act the way we act and do the things that we do.  It is amazing that the Lord has every example about our condition in the good book.  I implore you to read the bible, it is such a good read!

How do you Feel?

I am going to be perfectly honest with you, I feel cheated. Life is not fair. I feel like someone has given me the short end of the stick. So, I often take up my issues with the head honcho upstairs.

“Lord what is going on!?”

You see, I know something is not right because I believe the word of God. So, when I read comparisons of the righteous and the fools in proverbs, I notice my life is reflecting the consequences of the foolish. Let us please stop lying to ourselves. God has something better for us. Let us begin to be even more diligent in the word of God, rightly dividing it, and gaining wisdom from it. Let us receive the correction of the Lord and stop making the same mistakes over and over again. Let us learn how to gain our wealth so that we can help more people. My bible says right there in proverbs that the blessing of the Lord maketh rich, with no sorrow to it. I am ready to change my money mindset. I am ready to change my whole mind about this life. I am ready for my next transition in thinking.

Transition your Thinking:

From: Money is evil

To the truth:

The love of money is the root of all evil

Bible study:

Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. . .

He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. . .

He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. . .

The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot. . .

The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. . .

Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. . .

In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding. . .

The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin. . .

He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth. . .

He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. . .

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. . .

The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. . .

The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. . .

The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish. . .

The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth. . .

The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out. . .

The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.

King James Bible

Lesson to learn: We have to develop our relationship with the Lord so that he can show us the right way to develop a relationship with everything else. Otherwise we stay lost. Otherwise we will have to learn things the hard way. It’s simply called experience. I want a little less experience and a little more happy by following in the ways of the Lord.

God wants to teach us the right way to use our inheritance.

Does your life remind you of the prodigal son?

Does your management of money seem to be wasteful?

Do you find your self trapped in debt with no wiggle room to enjoy your life?

Do you work at a job that you hate?

Transition your thinking from

I need to make money in order to survive in this world

To the Truth:

I have a father in heaven who will provide my every need.

Verse: No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other, ye cannot serve God and mammon. Luke 16:13
Bible study:
Luke Chapter 15:11-24 of the book of Luke talks about the prodigal son. The youngest of two sons asked his father for his inheritance. This son had all he needed at his father’s estate, but instead decided to journey into a far country where he spent all his money frivolously. He found himself in a pretty tough situation where he then had to find a job that was obviously beneath him. This job didn’t even manage to sustain his basic living needs and there was no one who offered him help to live life.

Realizing his mistake, and his faulty spending habits, the son finally talked himself into going back to his father to ask forgiveness for his wasteful living.

I will go back to my father and will say unto him, Father I have sinned against heaven and before thee, And I am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of your hired servants. Luke 15:18-19

Finally, the son returned but before he could give his big apology speech the father saw him coming down the road, returning home after being lost in an unknown country. The father decide to throw a party to welcome his son back. He was happy that he returned safe and saw no unworthiness on him.

Lesson to learn: We are all prodigals. We are living in a country that is not our own. Everything in this world is vanity and it will fade away. When we are not fully aware of who we are, we are being used and used up by the citizens of this unknown country. We will die here if we don’t wake up and realize who our father is.

We are servants of God and there for our finances should be available to him. But more than that, we are heirs and our father wants us to return home. Our finances are not for the pursuit of our personal happiness here on this earth. We must first seek the kingdom and its righteousness and everything else will be added to us. We must be responsible with what God has given us. Read Luke chapter 15 and 16 for yourself and gain insight on who you are and what your relationship should be with money.

God wishes to teach us a responsible and managerial money mindset

Wishing you great success in Living your Life on  Purpose!

How is your Heart? Exploring the methods of the Lord and how he tests your heart

. . .but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. And they that understand among the people shall instruct many . . . Daniel 11:32

I want to start this post by saying that when I write I don't mean to offend anyone.  I'm not out to get any religion or to upset a group of people.  I write what God puts on my heart to write.  Sometimes these things tend to upset some people.  Like the time that I had to rebuke the devil because he tried to make me feel insignificant.  I had to tell him that I knew who I was.  The person thought that I was talking to him, but I was talking to the spirit of Belial that was directing his misunderstanding.

Do people not understand that there are seducing spirits everywhere?

I will say that this is a spiritual world that we are currently operating in.  We are all connected in this spiritual dynamic.  Some of us are aware of that and some of us are not. But let me tell you that you have to be forever watching, forever prayerful, and constantly renewing your mind, because these seducing spirits are coming faster and faster and are becoming more and more powerful.  This is why Jesus wants us to walk closer to him everyday, so that we won't be misled.

Read this story in I Kings Chapter 22

Remember when King Ahab asked the prophets to tell him about his fate in the upcoming battle with Syria.  After hearing what he wanted to hear from those 400 false prophets, King Ahab already made up his mind to go into battle.  Jehoshaphat, the king of Judah, suggested that they get someone else, another prophet.   And so Ahab sent for the prophet Micaiah.  This prophet told him that the Lord spoke of his disaster.  Well, the interesting thing about this passage was when Micaiah said:

I saw the Lord sitting on his throne and all the host of heaven standing by him on his right and his left.  And the Lord said who shall persuade Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead? . . . and there came forth a spirit, and stood before the Lord, and said, I will persuade him . . . I will go forth and I will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all the prophets. . . I Kings 22:22

It was interesting to me because the Lord was strategizing in the spiritual realm!  He was hearing ideas and coming up with the best plan for his purpose to prevail.

With that said, we must understand in this day in time their are many seducing spirits that are being sent out to test the hearts and true intentions of God's people.  This is why we have to have a close walk with the Lord like Micaiah.  Micaiah could have been seduced with that lying spirit also, if his intentions were not to serve the Lord.  See, all of those false prophets, just wanted to say what would please the King, not the Lord,  so it was easy for the seducing spirit to convince them to say what they said.

So, the Lord gave the spirit permission to persuade Ahab that he would be successful in battle.  Why?  Because Ahab wanted to do what he wanted to do regardless. Micaiah was telling the truth, but Ahab didn't believe the truth.  He ignored the council of Micaiah, he ignored the wise council of Jehoshaphat, and therefore Ahab died by a random arrow.

Another interesting find was that Zedekiah honestly felt offended by Micaiah's prophecy.  Zedekiah told King Ahab that he was going to be victorious over the Syrians.  This was not the truth, and Zedekiah didn't know that he was being tempted by a lying spirit.  Hence, not everyone is aware that we are connected to the spiritual world.  Not everyone understands that the condition of our heart is always being tested.  And there will be a reward for those who endure to the end.

Lesson to Learn:

Check your heart everyday.  Renew your mind with the Lord so that you won't be deceived by lying spirits.

Also, understand that everything happens to and for the ultimate purpose of the Lord.  The Lord has already strategized the plan for your salvation.  That plan is finished.  Except that plan.  Keep following the Lord and trust in the plan for your cleansing!

I know the side that I am writing for and so I continue to write the content that I write.  Be blessed always.

Live Life post 91 Sin, This is Why your life sucks . . .

post 91

Caution:  This is not a condemnation or a judgement, but let us explore what is really going on in our lives.  Why are we unhappy?  Why are we unfulfilled in our lives?

Sin. . .

This is why your life sucks. . .

Sin, which means missing the mark.  Not being able to fulfill your destiny, not being able to reach the goal, not being able to hit the target of what you set out to do.  It is an archery term.  We do not hold the capacity to hit the bulls eye because our perception is off.  We don't even aim in the right direction!!!

This is why it is so important to ask God for direction!

Ok, so I posted "My Life Sucks" last night, but I really need to elaborate on why.  I mentioned sin, but a lot of us don't really understand what sin is.  We get such a bad taste in our mouth when someone tries to tell us that we are sinners, but we really shouldn't.  It is just the way it is, we have a sinful nature.  It doesn't mean that we are all bad, it just means that we can't reach the level that we were created to meet.  We can not live this life or the next on our own merit.  We need a supernatural power source.  That source is the Lord.  He will help us meet every mark and hit every bulls eye.

I wrote:

"We all have this idea in our heads of what will make our lives better.  However, if your ideas don't line up with God's ideas then your life is just going to suck.  There is no other way to put it.  Every time you get what you think will make you happy, you will just be left unfulfilled and begin to go after the next thing the world says that you need. . ."

Why do we always want more?  It is because of  sin!  We are constantly aiming for what we think will make us happy, and when we get there, it isn't really what we needed.  We missed our mark.  We missed the whole point.  We missed what our purpose was.  We missed it because we didn't have the power in the shot.  We didn't point in the right direction.  We didn't have the training to know what the target was or what it looked like.  We didn't have the sight, the stance, the posture, the muscle, or the know how to make the shot in the first place.  Most of us don't even have the bow nor the arrow to shoot.  We are all amiss, shooting in the breeze of nothingness, and in this we become frustrated.  We become sad, and depressed because we just don't understand why it is not working out for us.

We keep missing the mark and this makes us feel empty inside.

Sin then, is not a punishment or a label of who you are.  Instead, sin is the result of our actions.  It is the name of what happens when we try to live this life on our own, and fail.

Sin is the prideful mind set that continues to separate us from the power source that has made us.  Sin separates us from God.  Hence, sin separates us from our purpose.

We all want to be happy, live fulfilled, be satisfied with life.  I know that it isn't only me who asks the Lord:  There has to be more to this life . . . What is the point of this life?

There is an answer.  The answer is Jesus Christ.

"In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink." John 7:37

But why is the answer Jesus Christ?

This is something that can't be answered in one blog post, in one conversation, in one sermon by the preacher.  But instead this is a long walk, and an infinite intimate conversation with the Lord.

Again I am talking about RELATIONSHIP.

I gave you this verse yesterday

Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.   Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil.

This means that there is a way around this constant struggle of  living a life that sucks.  You just have to give your life to God, let him lead it, acknowledge that he is the creator and has everything set in place for you.  He will take you through the right training.  He will allow you to learn the stance, the posture, and the target.  He is the instructor so let him instruct you.  He will give you every tool that you need to hit the target.

Now, stop throwing sticks, stones and what ever else up into the air, because they just keep hitting you in the head.  That sucks.  That is a horrible way to live.

I pray that this is helpful to you building your relationship with the Lord.  I pray that you are one step closer to finding your purpose.
