Live Life 160: Learn Discipline

God has been leading me to write a lot about DISCIPLINE  lately. . . and another great video on this subject was brought to my attention.

Discipline is self control in a sense.  It is training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character. (Webster dictionary).  Dr. Axe teaches on dietary discipline and it is a kingdom principle that we must be conscious of.

I'm glad that I found Dr. Axe.  He's Awesome!

In this video he introduces us to Dr. Zaino, who talks about daily habits of success.

Surprise surprise, he has a morning ritual (routine) like all other successful people I read about.

I have a morning ritual, perhaps I will be more disciplined as I go.  I'm practicing getting up and taking my walk every morning.  I will continue to practice and really develop what Dr. Zaino calls that "DISCIPLINE muscle."

The following are some of the things this video touches on:

Developing Discipline
Morning Routines
Time management
Detox protocol (Something I have to look more into later)

Dr. Axe also encourages us to write down the time that we are going to spend with God, family, yourself, and mission.   If you don't plan it, your probably won't do it . . .

What will your time with God look like?  What time are you going to spend with your family, your husband, and your kids?  What is the scheduled time that you are going to work on yourself?  How much time are you going to dedicate to your life's work, your mission?

What exactly is your mission?

Your mission would be what I refer to as your Purpose.  Your purpose connects you to Vision.  Putting your purpose and your vision together is your mission.

Mission:  The work that you do, according to your purpose on earth, that will help you complete the picture of your vision.

Hey, Check it out.  It's good stuff:

Feed your mind, continue to grow, and live your life on Purpose.

Live Life post 159: Are you being fed spiritually?

I was babysitting and I didn't feed her!! SMH

This is my Christian life.

So, I'm trying to get over the fact that my little niece spent the night last night and stayed the next day with my kids.  I am so sick to my stomach to say that my kids did not offer her anything to eat while she visited.  I'm sure that this is partly my fault as there was no more milk in the house for them to get cereal.  My kids are usually good at getting something for breakfast.  I just  usually do lunch and dinner. . .

Lunch time I  made them jumbo soft pretzels.  Then I told them to eat the left over sausage from last night's dinner if they were still hungry.

Now I gave them these directions because I had to do my youngest daughter's hair.  I of course get up at 5am and my children, do to their summer lazy schedule, don't get up till about 10:30.  So, by the time 3:00 rolls around, I'm ready to take a nap before I have to get up and run them to their perspective rehearsals and band practices.  They, however, are wide awake and usually ready to eat me out of a house and home.

Granted, the visitor was not expected so there we no snacks in the house.  No ready made juice, or easy grab and go things to eat.  These are things I usually have in place when the kids have visitors over.  Why?  Because I don't like to be bothered.  The best thing about the kids having friends/ cousins over is that they are usually entertained by each other.  I provide the snacks and my kids entertain their company.

The only thing available in the house was peanut butter and jelly and last night's left overs.  They had access to brownies, which they devoured last night.  They chose not to eat the corn muffins because I do have to admit, they were nasty.

With all this said, the sausage was not eaten. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were not made, because you know that would require them to stop the video game and make the sandwiches.

I woke up from my nap, around 4:30 (30 minutes too late) and rushed everyone out of the house in order to get them to rehearsal by 5.  In the end, before I dropped my niece home,  I found out the only thing that she had eaten in the 18 hours that she was at my house was a cinnamon/sugar soft pretzel.  If  were her mother I would curse me out.  But you know sense I'm a Christian, I would try to restrain my self.  I know her mother is Christian, so I pray she can forgive me for not feeding her child.

Moral of the story, don't leave your children with me, I am a horrible babysitter.  I have my own children on a schedule and an understanding that if they don't fend for themselves or eat what I cook, they will then starve.  The only time that I am good at watching kids is if I have everything planned out and prepared in advance.  I am very good at organizing activities with larger youth groups.  But I fail to do that when the kids have unexpected company.  So, I guess they don't need to have company if they want to be lazy and not heat up the sausage like I told them!!

Pray for me-  I thank God that there is a lesson in everything

Here goes a Moral for Christian Ministry . . .

God will not give you too many chances to feed his children.

God, gives us chances, but he is not going to trust you with more if you are not a good manager of what you have already.  How many chances do you think he will give you with his precious cargo before he has to teach you an important lesson?

Now, don't get all bent out of shape, this is really me talking to my self about somethings.

"His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord."
Matthew 25:23

If God sends you someone to mentor, to teach, or to guide in the word, you should really be prepared to do so.  People are visiting ministries, they are looking for truth, and they want to be fed.  If God sends them to you, you should have something sustainable to share.

I wasn't prepared for my visitor, but I should have had something set up for her to feel welcome, safe, and taken care of.  I had some sweets for her when she came, but would it really sustain her if every time she came over I only offered her sugar pretzels and brownies.  If  I did that every time she came over, her mother would stop sending her.

We as the church need to offer more than just praise and worship, empty prayers, and uninspired sermons.  If we don't offer more than this, God will stop sending them.

If you are wondering why your ministry is not growing, ask yourself if you had anything prepared for your visitors.   Do the people who work with you know what you expect when a visitor comes?  Do they know what to do,  do they know what to offer, do they know how to work?  Even if you taught them how to survive on leftovers, it doesn't mean that they all will feed themselves.

Do we really offer visitors food that will allow them to grow and keep coming back for more?  Is the food nourishing to their spirit?

God just opened my eyes on this one.  I can see now why people come to my church, then they stop coming.  I can see why God stopped sending me kids into the youth ministry.  I wasn't feeding them. . .

No more excuses, It is not about my kids not doing what I told them to do.  Instead it is about my kids doing what I trained them to do. I have to be a better leader.  I have to train them better.

I have to change my mind about how I am doing things.  I have to get more serious and I have to be prepared before God can trust me with any more of his children.

Pray for me

Until next time

Live Life post 158: Who are we if we don't have a purpose?

If there is one thing that you should know about life is that God created you because their is only one true and living God with that kind of power.  Another thing that you should know is that in the beginning before he made you, he created the word. "The word" or "logos" in Hebrew means the expressed essence of purpose. In the Greek, you may understand it as law.  Now, since the word was there in the beginning, this means that when it was spoken it was spoken on purpose to create things with a purpose.

Everything that God made was for a purpose and for a reason.  When ever God speaks he makes law.  Everything that God speaks is true and therefor is good.  Everything that is good is true and therefore offers understanding/knowledge.  Having knowledge is walking in the light of that knowledge.  Walking in the dark is walking in ignorance.  Hence, walking in the dark means you are walking in something that has no purpose.

Who are we if we have no purpose?

Who are we if our lives don't mean anything.  Who are we if we continue to do things that destroy ourselves.  Yes, we have access to do anything that we want, we have that freedom, but what does it benefit us if it is not part of our purpose.

We die from lack of knowledge of the truth.  We die because we don't know our purpose.  Hence my friends,  you must know that you were made for a purpose and a reason.  In order to find out that reason God wants you to get to know who he is so that he can reveal your purpose to you.

You are important!

Seek the truth, keep growing in the truth, and you will find the answer.

References:

I like the way Skip writes and explains the Hebrew word Logos and perhaps you can get a further understanding by reading his article:

"If logos is action with purpose, then God’s view of reality is about the purpose of all He creates.  It all serves some end.  As part of His creation, you and I also serve some end – or at least we are intended to do so.  In the beginning was active purpose.  That is still the character of all existence.  The only question for us is this:  what end do you serve?  What purpose were you created to do?  If you can’t answer that question, your life is aimless.  How will you hit the mark without understanding the purpose for which you were made?"

I also listen to Dr. Miles Munroe, who is the leader in visionary thinking and Kingdom concepts.  He passed away but an array of his knowledge can be found in his books, and recorded teachings.  Yes this video is over an hour long, but he did talk about God's "Expressed Purpose."

The bible is always my first reference and so here are some scriptures that the Holy spirit was showing me as I was writing.

John 1:1-5
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Hosea 4:6

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Go back and read this for yourself.  The more word you know in your heart, the easier it is for you to hear God's communication to you.  He will tell you what your purpose is.

Live Life post 157: Some thoughts about Discipline

I'm understand that having discipline is a very important part of life.  It is what is going to determine if you are successful or not.  Now when I talk about success I'm not referring to an empty reach for self fulfillment.  No, true success comes from fulfilling your vision.  True vision comes from God.

I think it is a shame that people go through life not walking in their purpose.  People go through life chasing empty dreams, empty promises and empty goals.  Yes, some people have great discipline, they know how to work hard to get that big house, brand new car or great job.  But what happens when you achieve these things and you still feel empty inside?  You realize that you were chasing the wrong dreams.

Writing this book

The bible says that we should do the will of God. We should follow the dreams that he gives us and not the dreams that the world gives us.  This world is built on a system of lies, so of course if you live in the world you will follow the wrong road, and you will be sorely disappointed in the end.

God gave me a push to start walking in my purpose.  I am writing a book on this very subject of understanding your purpose.  It is important to first understand who you are in order to understand your purpose.  So that is one of the things that I am trying to do through this writing exercise.  I am determined to find out and help others find out:  Who they are, Why they are here, Where they came from, and What their purpose is in life?

Writing this book is a hard thing to do.  God is teaching me how to work.  He is showing me how to plan my time to work, no matter what.  He is showing and teaching me how not to get distracted.  He is showing me all types of things that have to do with discipline.

Stick to it

God is teaching me how to keep going.  Day by day, little by little.  It is inevitable that you will see some progress if you stick with something.  He is walking me through learning how to focus intently on a thing so that progress becomes self motivating.  When God  gives you a purpose, you follow it with a passion.  I now have a passion that fuels my for perseverance.  This is called stick to- it -tive-ness.

This is not a made up word but a word that means dogged perseverance. This is not my phrase to coin,  But I heard it on a video about rules of success by the Restored Church of God.  Perhaps you should check it out in these videos part 1 & 2.  I thought it was pretty good!

Ok, so we shouldn't go to everyone's church.  No, but we should all be lead by the Holy Spirit and not get caught up in titles, church denominations, or what other people think.  This is not about religion.  This is about being successful by God's Standards.  This is about following the purpose for your life.  This is about receiving your vision from God.  This is about understanding the Kingdom of Heaven.  This is about understanding what Jesus was trying to teach us.  This is about building our relationship with God the way that he needs it to be,  so that we can be in direct accord with what he needs us to do.

This is about being disciplined.

Time for some Random blurbs of thought . . .

-You are a grown up now.  You know right from wrong.  If God  brought you to it, he will bring you through it.  If God showed you a glimpse of your future, it is up to you to believe it by faith and to go after it. . .

-So many people are worried about the things that are going to get them, or the things that they have to protect themselves from.  I have news for people, you can't protect yourself from anything because God is your protector.

-Go and read the parable about  the talents.  Read it!
Was God pleased with the one who played it safe and buried his talent for safe keeping . . . No

-We have to stop playing the defense and know the power that God gave us to play offense.  It is time that we tap into the power of God.

-Pray for how you want to attack the enemy.

-The Lord Mighty in Battle.

-I have noticed that online Christian organizers want to say "we keep our readers away from New Age, away from prosperity messages, away from purpose messages"  I'm like, ok then how are they supposed to develop as a Christian if they don't know what is about to attack them?

-I went through it, I walk through it . . . Not because I was being disobedient to the Lord, but because he wanted to show me the attack.  He want to prepare me to know how to fight back . . So now, I not only pray, but I pray in tongues.  I not only read the Bible but I study intently and intensely.  I could only learn that by going through some things, so that I could learn how to develop DISCIPLINE.

I don't go out and do the things I used to do anymore because it is not part of my purpose.  I built up a resistance and I don't go running out every time my friends call.  I have developed discipline.  I know how to say no!

There is so much to learn and so much that God wants to teach us.  Will you not be disciplined enough to hear his voice.  Block out everything else and hear him calling you towards your purpose.

Live Life post 155: Motivation: Is it important?

This was some of the art work from an art show that I did last year with the kids.  I had a fire inside me because my heart was full of all the possibilities that the Lord had for my future.  I had been recently laid off and had no prospects for the up coming school year.  I put all my time and effort into putting up this artwork.  I was so excited to organize it, put it together, and put it up.  It was a lot of work, but it was worth it because I was motivated to do it.

Motivation is very important.  It all depends on the source from which it comes. Some say not so much, but in this brief post  I want to tell you why I am not doing another art show this year.

The art show was part of an art camp that I threw last August at my church.  I, my sister in-law and some others worked with the kids to experience bible teaching and creative expressions by using their gifts.  We had cooking class, sewing, and painting.  It really turned out great.  I thank the teachers and voulnteers that came out for this week long event.

The extension of this VBS was to show the students' creations on display at the local library.  I also extended the show to outside artists who wanted a chance to show their work.  Not one single adult from my church came to show their support.  NOT ONE!  And boy was that demotivating.  So, this year there will be no art show.

I would like to do a show for the kids but the agony of the repeat offense of lack of support plagues my memory and that is something I don't want to experience again.  And so I am weakened by that.  Or so I thought . . .

In reality I come to realize that if there is anything worth doing, anything that you feel deep in your soul that has to be done; it doesn't require an outside source of motivation.  If you are doing something because it is part of your purpose, you will do it any.

I surmise that the art show was not part of my purpose. But it did show me that I know how to work.  I know how to lose sleep over a thing if I need to meet a deadline.  I knew this lesson from times before, God just had to remind me of that.  Now I am ready to go live my purpose, something that I was born to do, something that God gave me passion to do and therefore no disingenuous motivation is required.

Find what you love to do!

Live Life post 154: The law of the Lord shall be written on our heart

The Law of the Lord shall be written on your heart. So as a law of love, you should take care of your body.

Kingdom principle: Living Healthy

Listen, as Christian, we should be aware of what is wrong and what is right.  We should be reading the word of God and it should become part of us.  Not in the sense that we have the ability to memorizing every scripture in the bible, but meaning that we love the word of God so much that we meditate on it.  We live it because it is part of us.  We practice it because that is all we know how to do.  We have a natural desire to live in love.

So, as I love the Lord, as I love the word of God, and there fore as I love you, brother/sister in Christ, I really want to share this information with you.  This is the whole reason why I write this  blog, to share with you.  We should understand friends that we should be taking care of our health.  We should be living a lot healthier than we are.  This a very important principle of the Kingdom of Heaven:  Be a good manager of what God has given you.  Be responsible and take care of your body.

Now, I'm not telling your this as a law to follow.  I'm sharing with you and you should understand that it is a suggestion of truth.  I am not here to give you a list of practices to follow, that would be very religious.  In stead I am sharing the word of God with you.  Research it for yourself.

We must learn how to be good stewards (good managers) of our health and of our bodies.  So let me tell you about a Doctor that I started to follow on You tube.  His name is  Dr. Josh Axe.

You can make your own take on it but it seems like he is revealing a lot to us that the elite does not want us to know.  When I say "Elite"  I mean the ones who politically and economically control our global world culture to confine the masses in a delusion of freedom but really keep us in a multi-level system of bondage.

OK!

Everybody, please be aware that "the Elite" are feeding us all kinds of Genetically Modified food that will keep us alive long enough for us to  make a living for this capitalistic system.  Then we get cancer and die because of the medical system that they have set up.  And we all do it compliantly because of the education system they set up.  Not only this, but America is probably the last powerful nation left to be completely taken over by a even more powerful one world system of government who wishes to put us all in slavery.  I'm just saying . . . WAKE UP!  The Capitalistic agenda is not working fast enough for them to acquire all their money,  the elite is on the fast track to their one world order.  This is just a warning!!

Anyway, check out some of his videos.  Then after that do some research on Dr. Sebi, (who the Elite killed because of his knowledge of naturalistic medicine)

I'm just saying!

You think this has nothing to do with you, but it has everything to do with you.

Until Next time

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Joshua 1:8

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jeremiah 31:33

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;  Hebrews 10:16

Also see: Hebrews 8:10, Ezekiel 11:19, Ezekiel 36:26

May God lead your heart to knowledge, understanding, and application.

Learn how to take care of yourself and you will live longer, feel better, and be able to teach others.  Don't just take my word for it but read the bible and let the Holy Spirit speak to your heart.  God Bless you.
