Live Life day 39: 8 ways to fight that feeling of anxiety . . . #'s 1-3

2-8-2017

Day 39 quote "Turn 'can't' into 'can' and dreams into plans"

Scripture "Where there is no vision the people perish, but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18

8 ways to fight that feeling of anxiety . . . # 1-3

#1Talk to God

#1 I take the time to talk to God every morning.  Some may call it prayer, I call it venting.  I need to tell the Lord my problems, my mistakes, my plans, my hopes, and my dreams. Then I get quiet and allow him to tell me if I am on the right track or not. If I happen to skip a morning than I can feel the difference in my day.  My day feels sluggish and misdirected.  So, talking to the Lord is a must for me.

#2 Clean Up

#2 Your surroundings are a manifestation of what is going on in your head.  If you find your self in a mess then your mind is probably a mess.  If you see that your space isn't necessarily organized, then start putting things in the right place.  If you are overwhelmed with too much stuff, then start throwing stuff away or giving it away.  Chances are you really don't need it.  So, just get rid of it and you will get rid of that anxious feeling.

#3 Write things down on paper

#3 Understand that just because you clean up your physical surroundings doesn't mean that your mind is going to be free from the clutter.  Cleaning will help relief stress but it is not going to fix the problem in your mind.  You must now address the problem that causes the clutter in your physical space.  You do this just my writing things down.

I have to write everything down that is busy flying around my mind breaking things and causing chaos.  I have to make a to do list.  I have to write down my goals.  I have to make and keep a schedule.  This is just how I am wired if I want to stay calm.  I tried winging it before, but I just can't live like that all the time.  I suggest that you write things down to know what you have to do.  If you get organized in your mind, than your physical surroundings will stay organized.

I found an awesome resource for you.  It is called prayerforanxiety.com.  This is a blog I just recently found by exploring pinterest and thought it was very fitting for this post.  The sight contains all types of prayers to help motivate you through what ever trial you are going through. . .

Live Life Day 38

2-7-2017

Day 38 "Give this world good energy"

Scripture: "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all thine ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6

I'm not always altogether nor do I have things all figured out.  I feel kind of overwhelmed at times like I'm doing so much and too much.  Most of the time, I do it to myself, I stress myself out for no reason at all.  Either I'm working too hard and don't take any breaks or I'm not working hard enough and I feel like I can do more.  The Lord is teaching me step by step how to get through these days.  I want to share with you some things that help me over come these feelings of anxiety:

1) I take time out to talk to God.
2) I clean up my surroundings.
3) I write things down.
4) I tell people "No."
5) I plan time for myself.
6) I have a refresh day with the Lord.
7) I memorize scripture.
8) I read to get Godly advice.

For the next three days I will go into detail about what these things mean.  Remember, I'm a Christian so it is all related to serving Jesus.  I want to show and teach you what God is teaching me.  So, if you like my blog, go ahead and follow me, share, and like.  Leave a comment or prayer request if this is helping you get through this thing we call life.

So, here's the thing, everyone needs a little encouragement from time to time so I will keep putting the quotes from the calendar in the post.  I will no longer try to correspond with the quote itself because I kind of feel like it is putting me in a box.  Sometimes the quotes are really good but other times I don't agree with them . . .  The quotes are from a day to day 2017 calendar with encouraging quotes and phrases collected by Sandra Magsamen.  You can check out her product line at sandramagsamen.com.

I'm also going to try very hard to incorporate a scripture, probably one that I am trying to learn that week, to encourage you.  I suggest that you also learn scripture and commit it to memory so that you can arm yourself against the enemy when he comes to attack.  But I will talk about that more later this week.

This walk is for real and I'm getting ready to take it up a notch.  So follow me so that we can follow Christ together.

Until Next Time

Day 37: Make Vision Boards Work For You

Live Life Day 37

"If you can dream it, you can do it."  Walt Disney

Related verse: "Where there is no vision, the people perish but he that keepeth the law, happy is he." Proverbs 29:18

I had a late night last night.  My team won the Super Bowl but it didn't look good for them most of the game.  I kept telling my husband "Brady is known for coming back!" Sadly, there was a point in the game where the Patriots trailed by 25 points and it looked like the game was over.

The leader of the team however had an idea in his head.  The idea was that he would make history by being the only quarterback to win 5 Super Bowls.  He dreamed it and it happened.

Congratulations Patriots for not giving up and making your dream come to fruition!

This is how it is in our Christian walk.  We have to envision, belief it, dream it, and live it.  We have to know and not doubt that God will work everything out in our lives.  We have to know that he wants the very best for us.  We have to know that he gives us dreams not to sleep on them, but to serve him in his kingdom.  We can live our dreams, as long as it lines up with God's purpose for us.

I have a book for you: "Dream it, Pin it, Live it" by Terri Savelle Foy

It is full of wonderful stories about people who followed their dream.  It even highlights some visual exercises that these successful people did in order to encourage their mind to believe their dreams as reality.  Finally, it is about creating your own vision and learning how to focus and bring your goals into your reality.

You can check out Terri on YouTube (this is where I started following her) and also check her out at Terri.com. I will add a you tube video to this post so that you can check it out.

Don't stop following your dreams, because you have already won with your leader Christ Jesus.  God Bless!

Live Life: Be Happy /Day 35-36

Day 35-36 "Be happy- not because everything is good, but because you have the power to see the good in everything."

God allows things to happen in our life so that we can grow and learn from those experiences. The goal is that we no longer live in sin, to the lust of men, but that we change our minds to live for God. When we start living for God, our whole perspective on life starts to change.

God tells us that when we live our lives for him then we are welcoming the Holy Spirit to plant seeds of righteousness. These seeds then eventually grow and grow until they produce fruit. The fruits that come from the spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, self control and meekness. (see Galatians 5:22-23). These fruits are the essence of where you will find your happiness.

There is so much power in letting God take control of your life!

God offers Protection:

God protected my mother-in-law while she was driving down the white horse pike last week. A car on the opposite side of the road tried to make a quick turn in front of her; cutting her off ,and hitting her head on! The tremendous wreck also smashed the whole front the car into the front seat, shattering the battery, and totaling the car. Looking at the pictures, there was no way that she got out off that car alive. My explanation was that God allowed an angel to pluck her out of the car while the collision took place. My mother-in-law left the accident with no broken bones and not a scratch on her.

God increases Faith:

This is an example of things not going right, but it also a perfect example of God's faithfulness. There is a lesson in everything. I'm sure it built up my mother in law's faith because it definitely built up mine. This will be an awesome testimony for years to come to help build up other believers belief in the power, protection, and grace that God provides his followers everyday.

God offers Peace:

God is teaching me how not to worry about things. I didn't have a phone at the time of the accident, and I didn't find out until 4 hours later but when I did hear about it, a since of calm came over me. I knew that everything was going to be alright.

What can you do to feel the power of God?

Try committing a scripture to memory once a week.  If not once a week, try once a month. Everyone is at a different step in their walk but reading and memorizing scripture really does help.

Here is a scripture that I am memorizing for the week:

For as much as Jesus has suffered in the flesh, arm yourself likewise with the same mind, for he that suffers in the flesh, ceases from sin that he no longer lives his time for the flesh, to the lust of men; but to the will of God. I Peter 2:1-2

This means that when you live your life for God, you have a different set of priorities. You also have a different perspective on how things work. Being a Christian doesn't mean that everything is going to go your way and that life will be smooth sailing. But it does mean that you have help that will sustain you through all your trials, weaknesses, and dilemmas.

So be happy, because God will give you the power to see the good in everything!

I pray that this was helpful in your journey to find your purpose.
Until next time.

Day 34- Live Life- get your sassy pants on. . .

Day 34 "Out of the way world, I got my sassy pants on today!"

This just reminded me of when I wrote a children's book with two other women about a young girl who was in a wheel chair but she had dreams of being a super hero.  She called herself Super Sassy Sasha.  If I can find some of it I will share it with you, I wonder why we never finished that project. .

Sometimes God gives us great ideas but we tell our selves that we don't have the time nor the resources to carry it out.  The thing is, having enough time is not the problem at all.  The real problem is that we often don't have the mind to carry it out.  Well it is time for me to get my sassy pants on.  I want to finish things that I start.  I will be all that God has made me to be.

What projects, thoughts, ideas, business, books has God given you that you didn't start yet?  What are you going to do to let the world know you mean business?

Get your sassy on!
until next time

Day 33

Day 33 "You are smart, you are fearless, you are amazing."

I like this, especially for encouraging yourself!  It is good to say an affirmation out loud to yourself  in order to speak positivity and strength into your life.  Speak over yourself and encourage yourself. You know that God has made you all of these wonderful things and now it is time you start to believe it!

I start my day with positive affirmations:  After I thank the Lord for waking me up I tell myself:

I am awake and full of energy
I am a beautiful talented young woman of God
I am blessed and highly favored
My children and my husband call me blessed
I am an international best selling author
I walk in wisdom, truth, love, and faith
I know who I am because I walk in my purpose

Not only am I affirming these beliefs by saying them out loud, but I am speaking them into existence.
This is not being prideful if you understand who has made it all possible.  All the glory goes to God for making you exactly who you are:

I am a mother, a daughter, a wife, and a sister

I am a teacher, an artist, an author, a speaker

I am a woman, a friend, a poet,  a leader

I find things, I finish things, and I am set free

I accomplish all of these things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me

Now I ask you boldly, and directly, and as abrupt as I can

Who will you be when you take your last stand?

Are you blessed, Are you chosen, will you keep the right pace?

Will you walk in wisdom, and in truth, and in love, and in faith?

Now inquisitive minds,  I'm not sure if you have known this last part

But I know who I am because I walk with my purpose in my heart
